Following his hospitalization on Friday, the White House has released a series of photographs appearing to show Donald Trump working away and completing some paperwork at the Walter Reed Medical Center.

However, not everybody is convinced by the latest snaps, and it has led to the POTUS being ridiculed on social media.

After revealing that he and his wife Melania had tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday morning, Trump was admitted to the medical center on Friday out of "an abundance of caution".

And per The Independent, the White House released a series of photographs on Saturday night shouting the President working from the conference room of his presidential suite.

Some of the snaps were even shared on Twitter by Trump's children Eric and Ivanka.

Ivanka wrote alongside an image of her father: "Nothing can stop him from working for the American people. RELENTLESS!"

As Eric championed his dad, writing: "If only all elected officials had this work ethic. @realDonaldTrump is a true warrior. I have admired this unrelenting drive my entire life."

However, one of the images in particular caught the eye of several Twitter users.

As White House reporter Andrew Feinberg wrote: "ZOOM: @realDonaldTrump appears to be signing his name to a blank sheet of paper in this photo."

Another Twitter user replied, saying: "That's the only kind of 'work' he knows how to do.

"And in his mind, as long as he makes it look like he's working and his base believes it, that's every bit as good, if not better, than actually doing something.

"We're living through the reality TV presidency."

Another quipped: "He's just signing white, blank copy paper with a jumbo Sharpie...It's full on Weekend at Bernie's over at Walter Reed."

And another Twitter user joked: "What happens with the blank sheets of paper after he's done signing them?"

However, the blank paper wasn't the only controversy dug up from the images, as Jon Ostrower - the editor-in-chief of aviation publication The Air Current - decided to take a closer look into the photos.

And, after checking the timestamps on the images, Ostrower said that despite showing Trump working from two different locations, they were taken just 10 minutes apart.

Ostrower wrote: "The photos released by the WH tonight of the president working at Walter Reed were taken 10 minutes apart at 5:25:59 pm and 5:35:40 pm ET Saturday, according to the EXIF [Exchangeable Image File] data embedded in both [The Associated Press] wire postings that were shared by the White House this evening."

(Ostrower did later clarify: "I’m sitting in Seattle and the timezone adjusted on the AP site by three hours, so 8:xx ET, rather. The time between the photos and the EXIF stamp on the AP wire is still 10 min apart.")

Journalist Caitlin Murray then tweeted: "I can't decide what's funnier: having the president sign a blank piece of paper with a giant Sharpie like a child, or sending the photos with the EXIF data that shows they were staged and taken 10 minutes apart."

And another added: "Can we talk about these staged photos taken 10 minutes apart? How stupid do you think we are?"

The Independent reports that White House chief of staff Mark Meadows spoke on Saturday morning explaining that the Trump's next 48 hours "will be critical in terms of his care”, adding: “We’re still not on a clear path to a full recovery."

Trump has since thanked the people of the US and other world leaders for their support.
