Donald Trump has written 'precise instructions' for his vice president in the event that he dies while in office, according to a counterterrorism official.
Sebastian Gorka has revealed that Trump drafted a secret note containing detailed procedures for JD Vance that must remain unopened unless Trump dies while in office.
During an appearance on ‘Pod Force One,’ counterterrorism official Gorka said: "There is a letter in the drawer in the Resolute Desk that is addressed to the vice president, should something happen to him.”
When asked why he is not concerned about Trump’s safety during his current state visit to China, Gorka said: "Everybody wants recognition from this man.
“The President, in my estimation, is very safe."
The counterterrorism director explained: "We have protocols, trust me. Not ones I can discuss, but we have protocols.
Gorka, a former right-wing pundit, also revealed that 'within 90 minutes of another assassination attempt,' Trump is 'cracking jokes about it.'
Commending Trump’s humour, he added that 'you only do that out of love, in this case love of country.'
Addressing handling assassination attempts, he declared that 'the biggest problem we have in the Trump administration is keeping up with the commander in chief. It's basically impossible.'
Gorka disclosed how, when he and his colleagues are not keeping a close eye on the president, and they just watch the news to see what he has been up to, they 'say oh my dear lord, what has he done now?' - citing examples like 'peace treaty #8.'
Gorka is the Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council (NSC) and has recently become one of the most visible faces of the administration's security policy.
Before rising to political fame, he was a key figure in the conservative media, hosting the radio show and podcast 'America First with Sebastian Gorka.'
Earlier this month, Gorka officially unveiled the 2026 U.S. Counterterrorism Strategy, which plans to shift focus towards 'hemispheric narcoterrorism' (targeting cartels) and formally declare certain domestic 'left-wing extremist' groups as national security threats.
According to the director of counterterrorism’s assessment, cartel-driven drug trafficking has claimed more American lives than U.S. military casualties in all overseas conflicts combined since World War II.
As laid out in his new strategy, he also plans to dismantle violent secular political factions with anti-American ideology, such as radical pro-transgender views or anarchist beliefs.
