Yesterday, news and media outlets across the US officially projected* Joe Biden to become the next president of the United States.

However, it would appear as if Donald Trump vehemently disagrees with those projections.

Taking to Twitter last night (November 7), 74-year-old Trump shared two tweets with his 88.8 million followers, in which he falsely claimed that he "won the election" after receiving "71,000,000 legal votes".

The first post - written in all-caps - read:

"THE OBSERVERS WERE NOT ALLOWED INTO THE COUNTING ROOMS. I WON THE ELECTION, GOT 71,000,000 LEGAL VOTES. BAD THINGS HAPPENED WHICH OUR OBSERVERS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO SEE. NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. MILLIONS OF MAIL-IN BALLOTS WERE SENT TO PEOPLE WHO NEVER ASKED FOR THEM!"

There is currently no evidence to support Trump's additional claims regarding illegal votes.

Twitter flagged Trump's tweet and accompanied it with a warning that reads: "This claim about election fraud is disputed."

If the flag is clicked, users are taken to a page that reads: "Voter fraud of any kind is exceedingly rare in the US, election experts confirm."

Trump's second tweet posted yesterday evening read: "71,000,000 Legal Votes. The most EVER for a sitting President!"

Per the Associated Press, Biden secured a projected victory after he was declared the winner in the state of Pennsylvania, pushing the Democratic presidential nominee over the threshold of 270 Electoral College.

Speaking to CBS This Morning, GOP Sen. Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania called Trump's claims of fraud "very disturbing".

Toomey added: "There’s simply no evidence anyone has shown me of any widespread corruption or fraud."

As of this writing, CNN reports that Biden has received a recorded-breaking 74,566,731 votes, as Donald Trump trails on 70,396,573 votes.

Following the projection of Joe Biden's victory yesterday, Donald Trump released a written statement in which he declared that the election was "far from over" and that his campaign would be pursuing legal action.

Trump's written statement reads:

"We all know why Joe Biden is rushing to falsely pose as the winner, and why his media allies are trying so hard to help him: they don’t want the truth to be exposed.

"The simple fact is this election is far from over."

The statement added: "Beginning Monday, our campaign will start prosecuting our case in court to ensure election laws are fully upheld and the rightful winner is seated."

Biden, 77, will now become the oldest president in the nation's history. The record was previously held by Donald Trump, who is currently 74.

In addition, Harris is now projected to become the first Black, Asian, and female vice president in US history.

*Biden has also been declared the projected winner of the election by NBCCNN, BBC News, and many others.

It is important to note that it is common for media agencies to reveal their election projections based on voting analysis and counted ballots. (Click HERE to read why the Associated Press called Biden for Pennsylvania, and therefore, the election.)
