The tragic death of Daunte Wright has triggered a ripple of fresh heartache across America.

Desperate for change, people are once again taking to the streets in response to Wright's death, demanding an end to police brutality – a rallying cry that has not stopped since the murder of George Floyd in May last year.
Here, VT remembers Black men, women and minors who have lost their lives at the hands of US police officers after being remanded for the most arbitrary of reasons; from walking home to a child playing with his toy.
This list is, of course, not conclusive.
