An eight-year-old boy has become the youngest victim to die after an SUV plowed into a crowd of people at a Wisconsin Christmas parade last weekend, NBC Chicago reports.

After the rampage, Jackson Sparks, 8, was rushed to the ICU but sadly passed away the following day, according to a statement on a GoFundMe page set up by his family. Jackson is now the sixth person to die due to injuries sustained at the parade. The initial five victims were between the ages of 52 and 81.

Jackson's 12-year-old brother Tucker also sustained substantial injuries at the parade and is still in recovery.

The family explained on their GoFundMe page that Jackson had undergone brain surgery following the incident but sadly passed away shortly after.

They wrote: "This afternoon, our dear Jackson has sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

"Please know that they appreciate your continued prayers and tremendous outpouring of support for their family. They do however ask for privacy at this time to allow Tucker to continue to heal physically and their family to heal and mourn the tremendous loss of their sweet little boy who is now under the care of Jesus."

The family exceeded its initial goal of $20,000 and has so far raised $315,711 towards medical expenses for both Jackson and Tucker.

In the afternoon of Sunday, November 21, a red SUV hit dozens of people at a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, killing six and injuring at least 48.

Footage of the fatal incident shows the vehicle ramming into a crowd made up of band members, cheerleaders, and families.

An officer shot at the SUV in an attempt to stop it from driving but no onlookers were hurt after he opened fire, Waukesha Police Chief Daniel Thompson said at a press conference. Investigators are now in possession of the vehicle.

Earlier this week, the suspect, 39-year-old Darrel Brooks, was charged with five counts of intentional homicide after he allegedly plowed through a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

The other five victims who were killed in the tragic event include: Wilhelm Hospel, 81, Virginia Sorenson, 79, LeAnna Owen, 71, Tamara Durand, 52, and Jane Kulich, 52
