Amid the chaos of their now-infamous Chicken Sandwich, a video has gone viral on social media this week showing a young boy appearing to be working in the kitchen of a Popeyes restaurant in Texas.

The video in question was filmed by a shocked customer who witnessed the minor working behind the counter, on November 3 in a restaurant located in a suburb of Dallas known as The Colony.

Disturbed by the young age of the child, who can be seen handling raw meat, the eyewitness filmed the scene on their phone and later uploaded to footage to social media.

Check out this news report of the video in question below. What would you do if you saw this in your local Popeyes?

Per Fox News, a source allegedly told South West News Service that the restaurant was extremely short-staffed on the day the video was filmed.

The customer claimed that there was only one person working on the front counter and another four employees preparing food in the kitchen.

In a statement made to Fox News, a spokesperson for the fast-food chain said: "We took swift action to explore this claim with the franchisee. The restaurant owner has terminated the employee who brought their child, a minor, into the kitchen, and will fully cooperate with any additional investigations in compliance with state and federal laws.

Popeyes recently came under fire after an employee bodyslammed a customer for using racial slurs:

They added: "The safety of our guests and team is always a priority for us and we take any actions that are outside of our brand and operational standards very seriously."

But this isn't the first PR disaster that the fast-food company has had to deal with lately. Recently, a video emerged on social media which shows a Popeyes employee bodyslamming a customer after getting into a heated argument, and another customer was stabbed outside a restaurant after a dispute over an incorrect bill.
