YouTuber arrested after partner ended relationship over ‘humiliating’ wedding act

YouTube star Jack Doherty has landed himself behind bars after a chaotic year filled with livestreams, outrageous antics, and a wedding prank that ended a relationship.

The 22-year-old content creator was arrested on Saturday, November 15, in Miami Beach, Florida, facing charges of drug possession and resisting arrest.

Doherty, who boasts more than 28 million followers across social media, was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center shortly after 8:45AM, according to Local 10 News.

The arrest comes just months after Doherty livestreamed a staged Las Vegas wedding with OnlyFans model McKinley Richardson, which ended in disaster.

During the ceremony, he blindsided her with a pre-nup prank that left viewers stunned and McKinley furious.

"So, shawty gets absolutely nothing when I divorce her, even if I cheat," Doherty said during the livestream. "If she cheats, she automatically owes me $10 million. I’ll also receive 100 percent of her OF revenue moving forward, even if we divorce."

McKinley later accused him of “humiliating” her, but luckily, the wedding wasn’t legally binding, so she walked away without complications.

Caught filming content in traffic before arrest

Police say Doherty’s arrest stemmed from his attempt to create social media content in the middle of the Miami Beach Entertainment District.

Around 3:12AM, officers spotted him stepping into traffic despite multiple warnings to stop. Even his own group tried to get him to cooperate, with one person telling officers: “Once I'm done with this bet," The Independent reports.

Instead, Doherty was taken into custody and found to have a “half of an orange oval-shaped pill with 3 imprinted on it,” believed to be a Schedule II amphetamine, and a container with about 4 grams of marijuana in the form of three hand-rolled joints, according to documents reported by The Independent.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and resisting an officer without violence. His bond was set at $3,500, which has since been paid.

Turning jail into content

Doherty wasted no time turning his arrest into more content. He uploaded footage to his Instagram showing his release, holding up a plastic bag of his belongings, which appeared to include a diamond necklace, and declaring: "I'm a free man, guys, let's go, I'm free!"

He continued: "NBC pulled up," also asking fans to “download all of the news clips” and send them his way.

Not everyone was impressed with him, as one follower commented, “Next time you might not make it! Slow down! You are so young, you have your whole life ahead of you. Money can disappear quick.” Another said, “Bro went to jail for content.”

A third slammed: "Disgusting," while a fourth added: "Hopefully the judge will see all of this and make an example of him?"
