More details have come to light regarding Vontae Davis after it was revealed that the NFL star passed away aged 35.
The late footballer had a remarkable college career at Illinois before he was selected in the first round of the 2009 draft by the Miami Dolphins.
Three years later, he was traded to the Indianapolis Colts where he enjoyed his most promising years in the league and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2014 and 2015.
His final season came with the Buffalo Bills in 2018, where he gained attention after he announced his retirement at half-time of a game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

At the time, details about how he died were not released, but preliminary information released by the Davie Police Department suggests that "foul play is not involved," as cited by WSVN 7.
Authorities have now released the 911 call made by the personal assistant of the 35-year-old after she found his deceased body in the gym area of the residence - which was registered in his grandmother's name.
"He arrived and he’s on the ground of the residence. He called me and he didn’t even speak--that’s why I called," the assistant said in the call, obtained by WPLG.
The assistant described the distressing scene via FaceTime and recalled the last time she saw Davis, saying: "Last time I saw him was Friday and I know that someone saw him Saturday...one of the drivers."
The dispatcher was able to get a hold of the woman who made the discovery on the phone, and the portions of that conversation were redacted before being publicly released.
