A 62-year-old sailor has been found and rescued by the coast guard, after vanishing at sea for a total of 43 hours.
Per a recent report by CNN, Stuart Bee was last seen departing Cape Marina in Port Canaveral at 4 pm on the afternoon of Friday, November 27, when his 32-foot boat named the Stingray drifted out to sea.

According to the Coast Guard, Bee was reported missing the following day by a member at the marina, who said that Bee doesn't normally stay out overnight on his boat.
Assisted by the US Customs and Border patrol, the coastguard began searching for him, dispatched a C-130 Hercules aircrew to scour the area.
The 225-foot container ship M/V Angeles later located Bee alive, clinging onto the hull of his 32-foot vessel, and took him aboard at around 11 am.

Per Sky News, Bee was left stranded in the sea for several hours in the dark hanging to the only part of his boat that was left above water. However, as conditions became lighter he was able to spot M/V Angeles on the horizon and managed to flag it down.
A spokesperson for the Coast Guard told Sky:
"After sunrise, he noticed the motor vessel Angeles in the distance, removed his shirt, and began waving to gain the attention of the crew... Thank you to all mariners who were on the lookout, and especially the motor vessel Angeles, for rescuing Mr. Bee"

Meanwhile, Coast Guard captain Mark Vlaun told CNN:
"Saving lives at sea is our highest calling. This is a truly incredible outcome that demonstrates the bond among all mariners and our community."
"Thank you to our mission partners that launch into action and to all who got the word out to find and rescue Mr. Bee."

However, this isn't the first time that a lost mariner has been safely recovered after being becalmed while out in the open ocean. Previously, the movie Life of Pi became a reality for one man after he was left floating out in the Indian Ocean for seven whole months with a big cat for company.
