In what looks like a scene from an alien invasion movie, a man has captured the moment six huge swirling waterspouts appeared off the Louisiana coast in the Gulf of Mexico.
Frank LeDay, a tool specialist from Moss Bluff, Louisiana, recorded the phenomenon last week and quickly posted the heart-pounding video to Facebook on August 20, where it was shared across social media.
Check out the mesmerizing footage below:

The spectacle - which looks like it could be the opening of a disaster movie - comes as residents on the Gulf Coast are preparing themselves for two tropical storms - one in the North Atlantic and another in the Caribbean - potentially hitting land simultaneously.
Per the National Hurricane Center, the latest forecasts predicted that Tropical Storm Marco and Tropical Storm Laura could devastate the Gulf Coast and south coast respectively as early as today (August 24).

Speaking to the MailOnline, Joel Cline - a tropical program coordinator for the National Weather Service - urged resident in the area:
"A lot of people are going to be impacted by rainfall and storm surge in the Gulf of Mexico… since you simply don’t know you really need to make precautions."
In addition, CNN meteorologist Dave Hennen explained:
"It's always tough to predict hurricanes, especially their intensity. In this case, it’s tough to say at this point which storm will be the strongest. The storms could potentially interact with each other and that makes this forecast (or two) even more complicated."
Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards also tweeted the following warning to locals last night:
"You have until nightfall this evening to finish your preparations for Hurricane Marco and Tropical Storm Laura. Wherever you are when it gets dark tonight is where you should plan to ride out these storms for at least 72 hours."

Edwards has requested a federal emergency declaration from the White House.
On Saturday (August 22), the governor made the following statement, warning that residents need to prepare to shelter for up to three days, potentially without power:
"This is unlike anything we have seen, with two hurricanes expected to impact our state nearly back to back. This may mean that people will have to shelter in place for more than 72 hours and that there may not be time to do things like restore lost power between the two storms."
Fortunately, today's news is reporting that hurricane Marco is weakening (more info HERE).
There is truly nothing more powerful than nature - please stay safe out there.
