A man who seemingly came back to life after dying six times has opened up about the ordeal.

According to a documentary, Ismail Azizi allegedly died and came back to life six separate times — each under bizarre and medically inexplicable circumstances.

What might sound like a miracle to some has, for Azizi, meant years of social isolation, rejection, and suspicion from the people around him - including alleged attempts on his life.

Azizi’s unusual saga began with a workplace accident that left him critically injured. Doctors pronounced him dead, his body was taken to the morgue, and funeral arrangements were underway.

But before the burial could happen, he regained consciousness and walked out. Witnesses fled in terror, convinced they were seeing a ghost.

The incidents didn’t stop there.

Not long afterward, Azizi contracted malaria. Delayed treatment caused his condition to deteriorate until medical staff declared him dead for a second time. As his family prepared to place him in a coffin, he suddenly moved, breathing again in front of their stunned eyes.

In a region where traditional beliefs about death, spirits, and witchcraft run deep, these repeated revivals began fueling suspicions. For some, Azizi became a man “touched” by supernatural forces — perhaps even a witch.

Azizi’s third brush with death came after a horrific road accident. The vehicle he was traveling in collided with a fuel truck, leaving him comatose. Doctors again pronounced him dead, only for him to come back, leaving hospital staff both shocked and uneasy.

About a year later, he was bitten by a venomous snake while farming. By the time he reached a doctor, he was unresponsive and once again declared dead.

This time, his body was kept in the morgue for three days before being prepared for burial — when he shocked everyone by waking up yet again.

Another incident involved a fall into a toilet pit. Presumed dead when he was pulled out, he revived once more, sending witnesses fleeing in panic.

After his fifth “death” and revival, fear in the community reached a boiling point. While some believed Azizi was under divine protection, others were convinced he was dangerous.

That fear turned violent when locals set his home on fire, accusing him of witchcraft.

Azizi suffocated in the blaze and was once again declared dead — only to revive later in the morgue.

By then, even some of his own relatives kept their distance, unsure whether to see him as blessed, cursed, or something else entirely. Family lore claims his grandfather experienced a similar revival, but no explanation has ever been confirmed.

Today, Azizi lives in a dilapidated house in isolation. He cooks, cleans, and farms for himself, with no help and few visitors.

Neighbors avoid him, and potential employers refuse to hire him, not because of anything he has done, but because of what he has survived.

According to the documentary, Azizi has never harmed anyone and lives peacefully. Yet the labels of “immortal” and “cursed” continue to shadow his life, costing him the acceptance and stability he once had.

For outsiders, his story might seem like a miracle. For Azizi, it’s a burden he never asked for.
