A woman was murdered by her boyfriend after she found out that he was married, police say.

As reported by BuzzFeed News, 32-year-old Ocastor Ferguson has been arrested on murder, kidnapping, and arson charges in connection with the death of 33-year-old Kayla Kelley.

Kelley was first reported missing on January 11, and her disappearance prompted days of searching by police. The next day, her car was discovered torched in a remote area of the Dallas suburb of Frisco.

Two days later, on January 14, Ferguson was arrested on a kidnapping charge in connection with his girlfriend's disappearance, per the New York Post.

Tragically, Kelley's body was found buried in a Grand Prairie field on January 18 by the Collin County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Rangers.

"While we desperately hoped for a different outcome, I’m grateful for the dogged determination of my deputies and our Texas Rangers in locating Ms. Kelley," Collin County Sheriff Jim Skinner said after her body was identified, per BuzzFeed News.

According to the outlet, the married man got into a relationship with Kelley after meeting on social media over the summer - going by the name of Kevin Brown.

However, his girlfriend uncovered his true identity and discovered that he was in fact married. She then allegedly informed her close friends that she was planning on exposing "Kevin" to his wife.

According to the affidavit, Ferguson’s wife disclosed to the police that she got a message from an unknown number on January 4, saying that they had something urgent to tell her. Apparently, she knew the message was sent by a woman based on the language in the text.

The publication reported that after the girlfriend was reported missing, authorities went to Ferguson's workplace to confront him, and he ended up admitting to having an affair, per the affidavit.

But he told the cops that he last saw her on January 10, when she dropped him off for work. He stated that she was supposed to return to his job to bring him his lunch but never did.

In shocking new developments, investigators obtained phone records that revealed that on January 10, Ferguson drove near Kelley's property and then went to the area where her vehicle was later located.

Initially, he denied being in the area and told officers that he had no idea what happened to his girlfriend. Police also revealed that his wife reported their car as stolen, however, it was later seen near Kelley’s home with duct tape, a blanket, and gloves inside.
