A three-year-old boy has tragically died after he was involved in a freak incident involving a ride-on lawnmower being driven by his father.
As reported by Daily Mail Australia, the horror accident occurred on Saturday at the family's home in South Pambula, New South Wales, Australia.
Police say that the father accidentally reversed over his son after failing to see the child behind him.
The boy was left with severe injuries and was rushed to Pambula District Hospital. Unfortunately, despite resuscitation attempts by paramedics, the toddler succumbed to his injuries.

Police were later called to the hospital at approximately 12:30PM (local time), per ABC.net.au.
A spokesperson for the police told Daily Mail Australia: "I don't think anything you could do to the father would change the way he feels unfortunately. It's unusual, it's not a death that's caused by natural causes, so that's why we're doing what we're doing."
The young boy's injuries were described as "not compatible with life" by police.

News.com.au reports that crime scenes were later set up at both the family's home (located southeast of Bega) and the hospital. As of this writing, investigations are ongoing and a report is being prepared for the coroner. However, police do say that the incident was most likely nothing more than a tragic accident and they are not expected to issue any charges.
Bega Valley Shire councilor Karen Wright has also shared her thoughts regarding the incident, saying: "It is absolutely tragic and my heart goes out to the family."
Our thoughts go out to anybody affected by this tragedy.
Lawnmower deaths are incredibly rare, but tragedies such as this have occurred in the past.
In the summer of 2019, a 60-year-old groundsman was tragically killed after a lawnmower blade came loose, flew off, and struck him in the chest, per The Mirror.
The incident took place in St Nectan’s Glen, in north Cornwall, UK.
An inquest into the groundskeeper Nic Osbourne's death later heard how he had expressed concerns regarding health and safety in the months prior to his passing.
Additionally, another toddler also lost their life back in 2013 when their grandfather accidentally ran them over on a John Deere ride-on lawnmower. At the time, the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office in Washington described that incident as a "tragic, freak accident",
