Baba Vanga, the blind Bulgarian mystic often compared to Nostradamus, appears to have hit the mark again.
Now, nearly 30 years after her death, one of her chilling 2025 predictions has materialized — and this time, it’s shaking the global economy.
Baba Vanga, born Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova, was a blind Bulgarian mystic who gained global attention for her alleged ability to foresee major world events.
Despite losing her sight during childhood, she claimed her visions began after surviving a violent storm. Over the years, she became known as the “Nostradamus of the Balkans,” with followers attributing her with predicting the 9/11 attacks, the death of Princess Diana, and natural disasters.
Although skeptics question the accuracy and interpretation of her prophecies, many believe that around 85% of her predictions have come true, fueling fascination with her legacy decades after her death in 1996.
Known for predicting major events like 9/11, Princess Diana’s death, and the rise of Covid, Baba Vanga warned that 2025 would bring a “worldwide economic disaster.” That prediction is now being linked to U.S. President Donald Trump’s aggressive new trade measures.

Trump recently imposed sweeping tariffs on foreign imports, claiming his goal is to protect American industry. The levies, which range from 10 to 50 percent — and a staggering 145 percent for China — have sparked massive volatility in stock markets worldwide.
Taking to Truth Social, the former president posted: "NOBODY is getting 'off the hook' for the unfair Trade Balances, and Non-Monetary Tariff Barriers, that other countries have used against us, especially not China, which, by far, treats us the worst!"
Since the April 9 announcement of the tariffs, market analysts have warned that the disruptions could spiral into a global recession — a scenario Baba Vanga reportedly predicted as “the beginning of humanity's downfall.”
While some skeptics remain unconvinced, this isn’t the only 2025 prediction that’s come true. Earlier this year, Baba Vanga was also linked to a forecast of catastrophic natural disasters. In March, a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Thailand and Myanmar, killing approximately 2,000 people.

Born Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova, Baba Vanga lost her sight during childhood and claimed she gained clairvoyant powers following a violent storm. She died in 1996 at the age of 84, but her predictions live on — and, according to followers, roughly 85% have proven accurate so far.
The latest economic chaos adds to the growing list of events that believers say she saw coming decades in advance.
