A Queensland guitar shop has come under fire for its "no masks permitted" sign as it bans "fragile" customers from entering the store amid the ongoing pandemic.

Morayfield music shop Guitar Exchange received a barrage of negative reviews after pictures of the sign were posted across social media, prompting people to take to Google reviews to slam the business for its decision.

While there is no strict mask enforcement policy in the area, Guitar Exchange has banned people from wearing masks in its store.

"Your Body Makes Particles When You Are Healing … They Are Not Contagious," the store's sign reads.

It ends with the message: "If You are fragile and believe you need to wear a mask, do not enter."

As per news.com.au, people have taken to Google reviews to slam the business for being anti-science and having "no regard for customer safety".

The issue was first raised by a Google user back in September when they wrote: "Clearly none of you have a science degree to be advertising this. What an absolute joke of a shop."

On Tuesday night, another user wrote: "No regard for hygiene or their customers' safety. Avoid this place like the plague."

In the video below, Bill Nye debunks anti-masker claims:

As community transmission is under control in the area, the Queensland state government is not enforcing the wearing of masks.

However, on its website, Queensland Health recommends being in possession of a mask when it is not possible to follow social distancing guidelines and when using public transport.

"Face masks alone will not protect you from COVID-19. Social distancing is the gold standard of COVID-19 prevention methods, coupled with washing your hands regularly," the government’s website reads.

This comes after an Oregon doctor had his license removed after he boasted that he and his staff were not wearing facemasks during the pandemic.

As reported by NBC News, Steven LaTulippe boasted about not wearing masks after he dismissed Covid-19 as nothing more than a "common cold".

He made the comments at a "Stop the Steal" rally in support of Donald Trump on November 7 outside the State Capitol in Salem.

"I want to expose what I call 'corona mania,'" LaTulippe said in a video, which was later posted on YouTube by the political group Multnomah County Republicans.

"I hate to tell you this. I might scare you, but I and my staff, none of us, once wore a mask in my clinic," LaTulippe told the crowd.

The Oregon Medical Board subsequently issued an emergency suspension after online records showed that LaTulippe "engaged in unprofessional conduct or dishonorable conduct."

According to the order, the doctor and his staff not only refused to wear masks, but they "[urged] persons who [entered] the clinic wearing masks to remove their masks."

The medical board ruled that LaTulippe "constitutes an immediate danger to the public, and presents a serious danger to the public health and safety."
