Actress Park Soo Ryun, best known for starring in the Disney+ show Snowdrop, has passed away at the age of 29.

As reported by the South Korean outlet Soompi, Park passed away after tragically falling down the stairs while returning home on Sunday (June 11) afternoon.

She was immediately rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment but was pronounced brain dead despite attempts to revive her, according to Straits Times.

The young star's grieving family members have now decided to donate her organs to help other patients in need and to honor her memory.

According to Soompi, her mother shared an emotional statement that read: "Only her brain is unconscious, and her heart is still beating. There must be someone who desperately needs [organs]. As her mother and father, we will be able to live comforted [by the thought that her heart] has gone to someone and is beating."

Park's mortuary is located at Suwon Hospital of Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center, and the procession will take place on Tuesday, June 13.

The actress made her debut in 2018 through a recital of the creative musical il tenore, which also featured actors such as Bloodhound's Lee Sang-yi and Hospital Playlist's Jeon Mi-do.

However, her most well-known role was in the JTBC historical drama, Snowdrop, which rose her to the fame she experienced in the last few years of her life. The TV series gained popularity with global audiences after being made available to watch on Disney+.

For those who haven't watched the show, Snowdrop tells the heartfelt love story of a university student named Eun Yeong-Ro who finds Lim Soo-Ho - a student attending a more prestigious university in Seoul - covered in blood so she helps hide him.

Alongside Park, the star-studded cast included Blackpink musician Jisoo, Jung Hae-in, Yoo In-na, Jang Seung-jo, Yoon Se-ah, and Kim Hye-Yoon.

Despite having a small role in the show, she was extremely enthusiastic to be on the set of the drama and to act alongside lead actor Hae In - whom she shared many pictures with on Instagram.

She showered the actor with praise in one particular snap for taking the time to get to know her, adding: "Jung Hae In sunbaenim (Korean for senior) Although my role was very small, thank you for staying until the very end (of our scenes) and taking care of each university student! I hope to meet you on another project."

Apart from the Disney+ series, Park also appeared in several musicals such as Finding Kim Jong Wook, Passing Through Love, Siddhartha, and The Day We Loved.

We offer our deepest condolences to Park Soo Ryun’s family, friends, and fans at this time.
