A family of treasure hunters has made the discovery of a lifetime after digging up two giant gold nuggets worth a whopping $350,000.
Brother-in-laws Brent Shannon and Ethan West, along with Ethan's father Paul, discovered the precious metal - weighing a combined 3.5kg (7.7lbs), near Tarnagulla, west of Bendigo in Australia.

Speaking to Sunrise on Thursday (August 20), Brent said: "I thought we were in for a chance. I was pretty excited to see the ground because it was virgin ground, which means it's untouched and hasn't been mined.
"We pull the material out and put it up on the surface - and then we push it out very thinly and we detect it that way.
"We can recover more gold that way, and it's a better way to do it and a safer way to mine."
Brent added that finding such huge nuggets of gold is a feeling that cannot be described. "It's a sense of relief and achievement and accomplishment. It is a feeling like no other," he said, adding:
"Nobody has seen these pieces of gold for millions of years and we're the first people to lay eyes on them. It is something that we love doing."
Their fortuitous find was also captured on the Discovery show Aussie Gold Hunters, as it tracked them discovering the 78 and 45 ounce nuggets.
And, unbelievably, Ethan revealed that he has discovered "thousands" of small pieces of gold over the past four years he's been mining.
However, he did admit that these were "definitely one of the most significant finds", adding: "To have two large chunks in one day is quite amazing.
"But for small pieces, I've picked up thousands. I'm very lucky like that."
You can say that again - I couldn't even find the prize in the cereal box and these guys find enough gold to buy a house.
Per the Daily Mail, despite the $350,000 evaluation, the family could get up to 30% more if they sell the nuggets to a collector.
