In breaking news, an enormous fire has erupted at Europa-Park, a top-tier theme park frequently hailed as "Germany's Disneyland".
As reported by The Sun, Gripping images shared on social media show towering clouds of dark smoke billowing into the sky, ominously overcasting a rollercoaster.
Europa-Park is situated in Rust, Baden-Württemberg, and is a beloved family destination famed for its thrilling rides and attractions. An eyewitness quoted by Bild stated: "It banged loudly two or three times. After that, a huge fire could be seen."
The inferno reportedly ignited near the Atlantic Supersplash ride, causing considerable alarm among park-goers.
Bild further reports that the "Diamond Cave", home to a portion of the Alpenexpress ride and the Descentes Rapides Tyrol, has been significantly impacted by the flames. Confusion reigns on social media, with many users questioning what is happening as the cause of the fire remains a mystery.
Witnesses have reportedly confirmed that an evacuation of the park is underway. However, the origin of the fire is still under investigation.
Europa-Park, first opened in 1975, has seen numerous transformations over the decades.
Attracting millions of visitors annually, tickets for the park range from £40 to £300. The park is conveniently located in the border triangle region of Germany, France, and Switzerland, a mere 34 miles south of Strasbourg.
Alarmingly, this isn't the first fire to break out at Europa-Park. In May 2018, a blaze sent flames soaring 15 meters high. Although the cause of that fire was not definitively established, it is believed to have started in a warehouse within the park before spreading to rides.
That fire caused extensive damage, destroying the 'The Pirates of Batavia' attraction and leading to the evacuation of the 'Scandinavia' area.
Europa-Park is the largest theme park in Germany and holds the title of the second most popular in Europe, runner-up only to Disneyland Paris in France.
Our thoughts go out to everybody impacted by the blaze.
