An Instagram star from Hong Kong tragically fell to her death after slipping while taking a selfie at a waterfall.

Per New York Post, 32-year-old Sophia Cheung traveled to Ha Pak Lai park with three friends on Saturday, July 10. Their plan was to climb the edge of the park's picturesque Pineapple Mountain and take photos.

Sadly, the popular social media user lost her footing and ultimately fell beneath the surface of the 16-foot pool below.

Cheung's friends immediately called the emergency services and first responders quickly rushed her to the hospital. It was shortly after they arrived that she was pronounced dead.

She had devoted much of her time to sharing travel pictures, which saw her posing on the edge of steep cliffs as well as taking part in less risky outdoor activities such as kayaking and hiking.

Cheung's philosophy, as stated in her Instagram bio, was "Life should be fun, not dumb".

Per The Sun, Cheung had 6,000 followers at the time of her death. She currently has over 17,000 at the time of writing.

Her very last photo on the platform, posted on July 9, shows her kneeling on the shore while holding a yellow boogie board.

The caption she used for the shot, in hindsight, is a very haunting one. She wrote: "Better Days are coming. They are called: Saturday and Sunday."

The snap has since been flooded with sweet messages for the 32-year-old in the wake of her untimely passing.

Several followers commented "RIP" after hearing the news of her fatal fall.
