A bizarre series of events unfolded at a Macklemore show after he invited a fan on stage and it led to her arrest.

On Saturday, August 17, Grammy-winning artist Macklemore, 41, performed at the Lovestream Festival in Bratislava.

During his set, he invited a fan named Samantha to join him on stage for a performance of his hit song 'Downtown'.

However, as reported by multiple outlets and confirmed by the Slovak Republic Police, the 24-year-old fan was wanted by authorities and was subsequently arrested after her on-stage appearance.

In a Facebook post shared on Monday, August 19, the Slovak Republic Police detailed the incident, stating that the woman had been chosen to sing alongside "one of the foreign performers" at the event, per PEOPLE.

The post, translated to English, included an image of the woman on stage with Macklemore.

According to the police, she later "immortalized this experience and bragged about it" on social media.

An "observant citizen" who saw her post recognized the woman from a Slovakian website featuring fugitives and "immediately informed the police."

Authorities quickly located and detained the woman, escorting her to a facility to serve a prison sentence she had previously evaded.

Video from the festival shows the woman energetically moving around the stage with a microphone during Macklemore's 2016 track.

While the police did not disclose the charges against the woman or the length of her sentence, reports from TMZ and Rolling Stone, citing local sources, indicate that she was previously fined for running shirtless onto the field during a 2019 soccer match.

The Lovestream Festival faced additional challenges during Macklemore's performance as the crowd had to be evacuated due to severe weather.

"It rained as hard as rain can fall," Macklemore shared on Instagram, noting that lightning also struck during the event.

"Just as we had given up hope, the festival informed us they were letting the people back in," Macklemore wrote.

"I’m sure some went home, but from my eye, 25,000 beautiful drenched humans resumed in their places with spirits as charged as the lightning in the distance. We had come too far to turn back, and the weather gods gave us a window."

Reflecting on the experience, he added: "Something about a show almost getting canceled makes you appreciate every moment on stage even more.

"Gratitude ensues, and it reverberated throughout the entire festival. We were alive, soaked, and gave it everything. I love you, Bratislava. I will never forget our night together."
