Yanin Campos, a beloved MasterChef México star and social media influencer, tragically passed away following a devastating car crash in her hometown of Chihuahua, Mexico.
The 38-year-old was driving early on the morning of August 2 when her black GMC Terrain SUV collided with a parked vehicle. The incident occurred around 6:30AM on the Francisco R. Almada highway, per the Sun.
Campos was rushed to the Hospital del Parque with critical injuries and, despite efforts to save her, passed away two days later in intensive care.
Local newspaper El Financiero reported that authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by Campos' brother, Raúl Campo, who shared a message on Facebook: "To our family and friends, we inform you and mourn the passing of my sister, Yanin Campos. The wake is at the Hernández Funeral Home for those who would like to say goodbye and join us."
Yanin’s rise to fame began in 2018 when she competed on MasterChef México during its fourth season.
Despite placing sixth, she left a lasting impression on viewers and was invited back for MasterChef: La Revancha in 2019, per the Metro.
Her charm, cooking skills, and relatability helped her build a loyal fanbase across social media platforms.
With nearly 100,000 followers on TikTok and more than 75,000 on Instagram, she transitioned from a career as a nurse to becoming a full-time influencer, sharing her culinary adventures and personal moments with her growing online community.

Yanin's final Instagram post, shared in 2023, shows her standing in front of a red telephone booth in London, and has since become a makeshift memorial for her admirers.
One fan wrote: "I’m sorry that I didn’t get to know you. Very sorry for the loss, just too soon. My condolences to family and friends, and fans, may you rest in peace." Another commented: "Yanin, you will be missed, keep shining wherever you are."
Her TikTok account, which had gained nearly 100,000 followers, is also filled with tributes from fans still reeling from the tragic news.
