A video of a Scandinavian man speaking in a particular accent has left viewers scratching their heads.
You may think that you've seen everything on the internet, but that's almost definitely wrong, with viral trends remaining unpredictable as ever.
This week, it's all about a man named Lasse, and the stories he has shared about his childhood.
Norwegian by birth, a viral video from his Instagram account shows him speaking to a group of Indian men about how he was left on the streets of India as a child while 'lost between borders.'
Lasse, 33, said that he had no formal education, and in a separate video, he revealed that his mother was in jail, while his father was in Norway and his brother had left.
While the intriguing story interested some, it was his authentic Indian accent that caught viewers off guard.
On his GoFundMe, Lasse explains that he has a 'story to tell the world' about how he was left in Mumbai by his parents.
He said that his page was started to 'help people who need people,' similar to the position he was in.
Following the virality of his videos, he provided an update, explaining: "I'm so happy for everyone supporting. I was not expecting to boom with follows on Instagram and every single platform.[sic]"
Lasse's authentic Indian accent, while passionately explaining how he struggled as a child, shocked millions online, who wouldn't have expected that from someone from a Scandinavian background.
Others were also confused as he had spoken in a Norwegian accent in previous videos, in what many have called 'code-switching'.
Warning: Strong language
One commenter wrote on Instagram: "My brain can't handle his accent."
Another added: "Leaving your kid in the slums of Mumbai is a crazy way to ditch him."
A third pointed out: "His homeboy shaking his head while he talking so you know it’s true."
On X, a different user explained: "This is code switching actually, this is the same reason why you might catch yourself mimicking the accent of the people around you."
Another wrote: "I found this guy on Instagram; he’s actually Norwegian and speaks in a Norwegian accent; it’s something to do with the Norwegian embassy abandoning him in India, where he kind of code-switches between Norwegian and Indian depending on who he’s talking to.
"May be a clarity thing."
He has mentioned that his parents left him in Mumbai, India, where he was made to fend for himself.
This led Lasse to become a tourist guide and find out how rough living conditions were in one of the most densely populated cities on Earth.
In a separate video on Instagram, he highlighted that the people in the slums were 'f***ing dangerous,' and he once feared that he would get his kidneys cut out of his body.
He claimed that he may have done 'wrong things' in the past, but he admitted that it was the lifestyle that he had to live, with no help from anyone else.
Lasse has his doubters, though, as many questioned the authenticity of his accent, believing it is all an act - but he has hit back at the haters and even posted a vlog from India to show followers what his life used to look like.
