Following a weekend of unrest across the US, a video showing a young white kid and a young black kid running to give each other a hug is once again going viral.

The video was reshared by DJ and music producer Kam Bennett, who captioned the video to his 1.8 million Twitter followers: "Never forget", along with a heart emoji.

The heartwarming video can be seen below:

This video has perhaps never been more relevant.

Bennet's tweet has since been retweeted over 125,000 times and viewed 11.5 million times since being shared on Saturday.

Supermodel and businesswoman Naomi Campbell also recently shared the touching video to her 9.2 million Instagram followers, along with the caption: "LOVE in its purest form give us all strength and hope."

The video originally went viral last year after being shared to social media by one of the boy's fathers, Michael D Cisneros.

Cisneros recently took to Facebook to express his surprise at Campbell sharing his video, as well as to comment on the fact that people need to watch the heartwarming clip "now more than ever". The father wrote:

"Naomi Campbell just tweeted our boys viral video. This is needed now more than ever, with all the hate and racism that is continuously happening. We must work to make ourselves better, and help other be better as well. Spread kindness, stop hate."

In the original Facebook post from last year, Cisneros explained why the boys - best friends Finnegan and Maxwell - were so happy to see each other, writing: "It’s Thursday. These two haven’t seen each other since Tuesday. So many feels, it’s beautiful. So thankful."

They were literally so happy to give each other a hug after just 48 hours.

Speaking to ABC News, Micheal explained how the duo have been "inseparable" after meeting, saying: "When they are away from each other, they are always asking about one another."

The doting dad added that the besties share hobbies, both attending a weekly music event where they "love to dance" and that "both are excellent dancers".

In the last few days, people in the US and in major cities around the world have come together to protest the injustices carried out against people like George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor. People are marching in the streets calling for an end to police brutality and for the discrimination against black people to finally stop.

Meanwhile, families and friends around the planet are also currently being ordered to socially distance and stay apart, when all we want is to come together.

It is no surprise this video has once again resurfaced this weekend.

We can all learn so much from Finnegan and Maxwell.
