Virginia Giuffre has issued a new statement via her family as new details regarding her hospitalization have emerged.

The 41-year-old mom - who is one of Jeffrey Epstein’s most prominent accusers - is currently hospitalized in Perth, Australia, after what she described as a serious car accident appeared to have left her with significant injuries and in kidney failure.

Giuffre is now fighting for her life, revealing she was given "just days to live" by doctors.

The Crash and Conflicting Details

The incident occurred on March 24 in rural Western Australia, when a school bus collided with the car in which Giuffre was a passenger.

In her initial Instagram post, she wrote: "This year has been the worst start to a new year, but I won’t bore anyone with the details but I think it important to note that when a school bus driver comes at you driving 110km as we were slowing for a turn that no matter what your car is made of it might as well be a tin can."

"I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology," she added, before stating that she's "ready to go" and thanking "the wonderful people of the world" for being a part of her life.

However, there was then confusion after officials in Perth reported that, while the crash did take place, no injuries were reported.

Western Australia Police provided a statement offering a different account of the incident. A spokesperson confirmed to The Mirror: “The Western Australia Police Force received a report of a minor crash which occurred between a bus and a car in Neergabby on 24 March just after 3pm.

"The collision was reported by the bus driver the following day. The car sustained approximately $2,000 (AUD) worth of damage. There were no reported injuries as a result of the crash.”

Police noted that the driver of the car was a 41-year-old woman, later identified as Giuffre, but clarified she had not informed the hospital about the cause of her visible injuries at the time of treatment.

Now, a new statement from Giuffre's family and new details from officials have helped to clarify some of the conflicting details.

Virginia Giuffre's New Statement

In a new statement released to Newsweek, Giuffre's family says: "Virginia thanks everyone for the outpouring of love and support. She is overwhelmed with gratitude.

"Today she remains in serious condition while receiving medical care. On March 24, in rural Western Australia, a school bus hit the car in which she was riding.

"The police were called but said that there was no one available to come to the scene. They asked if anyone was injured and suggested that if they were, they should make their way to the hospital. The school bus driver had a bus full of distraught children and left the scene to get them back, saying he would file a police report, which he did later.

"Virginia was banged up and bruised and returned home. Virginia's condition worsened and she was admitted to the hospital.

"Concerning her Instagram post, Virginia thought that she had posted on her private Facebook page. Virginia and her family thank everyone for their concern."

According to 9News Perth, Giuffre was a passenger at the time of the collision and her carer was driving. Following the crash, she reportedly took herself to Joondalup Hospital with a pre-existing injury. While there, doctors began tests and identified kidney-related issues. She was discharged the next day.

One week later, she was brought by ambulance to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, as reported by 7News Perth, and was seeking treatment for pain. It is understood she would stay in hospital overnight and be discharged the following day. The outlet also stated that her bruising appeared to result from a fall.

Support Pours In

Despite the confusion surrounding Giuffre’s initial post, her representative, Dini von Mueffling, confirmed her condition was serious. “Virginia has been in a serious accident and is receiving medical care in the hospital. She greatly appreciates the support and well wishes people are sending,” she told multiple outlets including BBC News.

Giuffre herself took to Instagram to post photos from her hospital bed, showing extensive bruising on her face. She claimed doctors had told her she had only “four days to live” due to kidney failure. She wrote, “I’m ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time.”

“Thank you all for being the wonderful people of the world and for being a great part of my life,” she added.

Support from family and friends has poured in online. Her father, Sky Roberts, commented on her post: “Virginia, my daughter, I love you and praying you get the correct treatment to live a long and healthy life. If there is anything in the world I can do to help you, please let me know. My spirit is with you now and holding your hand.”

Brad Edwards, an attorney who has represented Giuffre in the past, also voiced concern. “She’s in a very bad situation,” he told the Daily Mail, noting they were “hoping for better news in the coming days” and that he hoped she would “pull through with good medical care.”

Giuffre was last known to be living in Ocean Reef, a northern suburb of Perth, with her husband Robert, though recent reports suggest the couple have separated after 22 years of marriage. Originally from California, she has lived in Australia for several years.

The crash and her resulting health crisis come after years in the spotlight due to her connection to Epstein and his powerful network.

In 2021, Giuffre filed a lawsuit against Prince Andrew, alleging he sexually assaulted her three times when she was 17, after Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell trafficked her to the Duke of York. Prince Andrew has repeatedly denied all allegations.

The case was settled out of court in 2022 for an undisclosed amount.

A letter filed at the time stated: “Prince Andrew intends to make a substantial donation to Ms. Giuffre’s charity in support of victims’ rights. Prince Andrew has never intended to malign Ms. Giuffre’s character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks.”

Jeffrey Epstein, who previously pleaded guilty to prostitution charges in 2008, was indicted on federal sex trafficking counts in 2019. He died by suicide in jail while awaiting trial. Maxwell was sentenced in 2022 to 20 years in prison for her role in the trafficking operation.
