Police have issued a new statement after Virginia Giuffre - one of Jeffrey Epstein’s most prominent accusers - has said she’s fighting for her life following a serious car crash in Australia.

In a series of emotional Instagram posts, Giuffre shared photos of herself lying in a hospital bed with extensive bruising across her face and revealed that doctors had given her just “four days to live” due to kidney failure.

She claimed she was being transferred to a specialist hospital for urology treatment and said: “I’m ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time.”

She added: “Thank you all for being the wonderful people of the world and for being a great part of my life.”

The 41-year-old alleged the crash occurred when a school bus traveling at 110km/h (68 mph) struck her vehicle as she was slowing for a turn, per The Guardian.

“No matter what your car is made of, it might as well be a tin can,” she wrote.

Western Australia Police have now provided a statement confirming an incident, sharing details that appear to clash with Giuffre's serious comments.

A spokesperson for the Western Australia Police Force confirmed to The Mirror: “The Western Australia Police Force received a report of a minor crash which occurred between a bus and a car in Neergabby on 24 March just after 3pm.

"The collision was reported by the bus driver the following day. The car sustained approximately $2,000 (AUD) worth of damage. There were no reported injuries as a result of the crash.”

Police confirmed the driver of the car was a 41-year-old woman. Giuffre was later identified as the hospitalized individual, though authorities noted that she had not informed the hospital what caused the visible injuries shown in her social media post.

A source familiar with the situation also told CNN that Giuffre is currently an inpatient at a Perth hospital but is not in a life-threatening condition. Despite this, Giuffre continues to assert that she is in renal failure.

Her representative, Dini von Mueffling, confirmed in a statement to multiple outlets, including BBC News: “Virginia has been in a serious accident and is receiving medical care in the hospital. She greatly appreciates the support and well wishes people are sending.”

Support has poured in from those close to her, including her father, Sky Roberts, who commented on her Instagram post: “Virginia, my daughter, I love you and praying you get the correct treatment to live a long and healthy life. If there is anything in the world I can do to help you, please let me know. My spirit is with you now and holding your hand.”

Brad Edwards, who has previously represented Giuffre in legal matters, also expressed concern. “She’s in a very bad situation,” he said, adding that they were “hoping for better news in the coming days” and that he hoped she would “pull through with good medical care.”

Giuffre was last known to be living in Ocean Reef, a northern suburb of Perth, with her husband Robert, though recent reports suggest the couple have separated after 22 years of marriage. She has lived in Australia for several years but is originally from California.

Her accident and current health scare come after years in the public spotlight as a key accuser of Epstein and his associates.

In 2021, she filed a lawsuit against Prince Andrew, alleging he sexually assaulted her on three occasions when she was 17. She claimed Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell trafficked her to the Duke of York.

In 2022, the lawsuit concluded with an out-of-court settlement for an undisclosed amount. A letter filed to the court noted: “Prince Andrew intends to make a substantial donation to Ms. Giuffre’s charity in support of victims’ rights. Prince Andrew has never intended to malign Ms. Giuffre’s character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks.”

Epstein, who pleaded guilty in 2008 to state prostitution charges, was later indicted in 2019 on federal sex trafficking counts. He died by suicide in jail while awaiting trial. Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022 for her role in the trafficking scheme.

As of now, Giuffre remains hospitalized in Perth. The full details surrounding the crash, her condition, and the extent of her injuries are still under scrutiny.
