WWE Hall of Famer Barry Windham suffered a massive heart attack over the weekend and is currently in the ICU.

Windham, 62, had an illustrious career in wrestling, being a heavily decorated champion. During his time in the ring, he won the NWA North American Heavyweight Title, WWF Tag Team Title, and the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship, amongst many more, per Metro.

The former wrestler is also the uncle of current WWE star Bray Wyatt and his brother Bo Dallas, and it was their sister who shared the worrying news about the 62-year-old.

Mika Rotunda created a GoFundMe page to share the news about her uncle, where she confirmed that he had suffered a massive heart attack on Friday evening (December 2), while at an airport.

In a lengthy statement, she updated fans on Windham's condition. "With deep sadness I regret to inform that my uncle, WWE Hall of Famer, Barry Windham suffered a massive heart attack Friday evening. While traveling through the Atlanta airport, his darkest fear became a horrific reality as he went into cardiac arrest," she began.

She continued to state that he has undergone an emergency procedure to "save his life", but admits that the "future is uncertain".

Rotunda added: "After those countless years of wrestling matches, traveling and entertaining worldwide, he experienced a number of taxing injuries and ended up undergoing multiple surgeries. That led to other health complications."

The statement goes on to say that Windham hung his boots up in the early 2000s, and since then work has been hard to come by. Due to his medical history, he has also been left without medical insurance.

The fundraiser page has been set up to gather funds for his medical bills, as the family is "impatiently waiting to hear that he will be okay."

At the time of writing, the page has raised over $3,400 from donors in just three hours, with fans wishing the former wrestling star well.

One person said: "One of my favorite wrestlers. THANK YOU for the years and years of entertainment," with a second saying: "Get well soon. Thanks for the personalized autograph last year through 80s Wrestling Pics in NJ. You were one of my heroes growing up in the late 80s/early 90s."

Wrestling star Cody Rhodes has currently given the highest donation on the page of $1,000, with Sasha Banks also donating a further $500.

We wish Barry and his family all the best during this difficult time.
