While the first few months are a veritable daze of sleepless nights, and a level of love that you never thought you could feel towards another person, new parents are always taken by surprise by how quickly their little bundles of joy grow up. And that's when the real work begins. I mean, making a child a decent, upstanding citizen certainly sounds as if it's an arduous process. Before you actually have to bring up a child, it's easy to make assumptions about how exactly you're going to raise this fictional being.
