It's one of the many perils that actors face when they're performing and sometimes it can go horribly wrong. Doing your own stunts is a risky business and while some actors are more than happy to get their hands dirty when working on the set of a movie, others are not so happy to do so. Jackie Chan is one of the first names that stands out when you think of actors who do their own stunts, with the martial arts expert getting seriously injured during the filming of some of his movies.
Blake Lively, however, is not a name that you would associate with action and danger. But, as it turns out, Lively is more than willing to perform her own stunts. According to reports coming out today, the actress has been injured during the filming of her newest film, The Rhythm Section, leading to filming being halted as a result.

A spokesman for the movie released a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, saying: "Paramount, Global Road (formerly known as IM Global) and producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli today confirmed that filming has been temporarily suspended on The Rhythm Section as Blake Lively sustained an injury to her hand whilst filming an action sequence. Production will resume as soon as possible."
It's not known how severe the injury is or how long the production will be suspended for.
Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter when the film was announced, Wilson and Broccoli said: "It is exciting for us to be working with the immensely talented team of director Reed Morano and actress Blake Lively, who have a strong vision for this very compelling story driven by a female protagonist."

The film is an adaption of the first book of the Stephanie Patrick series by author Mark Burnell. The novel follows Partick, who is being portrayed by Lively, as she sets out to solve the mystery behind her family's death after their plane, which she was supposed to be on, crashes into the Atlantic Ocean. Patrick takes on different personalities throughout the story, including an assassin, to deal with the death of her family and figure out the truth behind the circumstances.
Jude Law will also star in the movie opposite Lively, and the film is being directed by Reed Morano, the brain behind the first three episodes of The Handmaid's Tale.
The actress had undertaken a drastic transformation in order to get into character for the film and recently shared the first still from the project on Instagram over the weekend.

The film is set to be released in February 2019, although it is not known if Lively's injury will delay the production of the movie or whether the injury is not too serious.
Hopefully, the injury sustained by lively isn't too drastic and production can start again in the near future. Plus, given how savage her
husband is on Twitter, Blake won't want to run the risk of getting trolled by him.
