Our fascination with all things celebrity is at an all time high.
No more is our voracious appetite for the rich and famous limited to the silver screen of Hollywood or at concerts, wherein we see a version of the famous but arguably not the true individual.
With the rise of social media, celebrities have been able to interact with fans and cultivate their personality in hitherto unprecedented fashion, and the rewards for those who are successful in doing so are obvious.
In the world of professional sports - and admittedly many actors and musicians - this has sadly lead to a rather mundane, run-of-the-mill, middle of the road approach to social media; cautious in the extreme and largely intended to be as inoffensive as possible to the masses.

Perhaps that is why
Ryan Reynolds has become such a sensation on Twitter for his often brutal, always hilarious tweets that poke fun at himself, his loved ones, and pretty much anyone inbetween.
Just this year we have seen the Hollywood leading man savagely troll his wife
Blake Lively with a hilarious "no filter" caption to an Instagram post of Lively looking decidedly less glamorous than normal.

Lively then fired back with an equally brilliant happy birthday message for her husband, cropping him almost entirely out of the frame of a photo of Reynolds with fellow Hollywood heartthrob
Ryan Gosling.
The irreverent style Reynolds has crafted is certainly in tune with arguably his most famous character, Deadpool, whose offbeat delivery and frequent asides to camera captivated audiences everywhere.
Now, in the run up to the much anticipated sequel to Deadpool, Reynolds is upping his social media game once more, and this time it is none other than his own mother who is in the cross hairs of his acerbic humour.
In a hilarious promo for his upcoming appearance at Comic Con in Brazil, Reynolds posted a video to Twitter in character saying that he had learned Portugese in anticipation of the event before advising that he would be bringing a "moderately trained" tattoo artist with him should any fans want to get inked Deadpool style. "Do you want my body, on yours, forever?" came his rather ominous question. Reynolds captioned the video "My mom barely has any room left on her face for another tattoo. But she’s going for it. Because she cares."

But it didn't end there, Reynolds subsequently posted a photograph of himself and his mother to Instagram replete with Deadpool tattoos. "My Mom had the best time in the #Deadpool tattoo booth at Brazil Comic Con. #ccxp2017" he wrote, at once promoting his new movie and providing Insta users everywhere with a reason to smile.

Deadpool 2 is anticipated for release in June 2018, with a huge level of hype to live up to. If the first movie is anything to go by, there won't be any problems on that front.
