iPhone users have been able to download iOS 18 since September, but those that have been using it for the past few weeks have warned that there are some downsides they've not been enjoying.

Users have claimed the changes made to the Photos app render it almost "unusable", as others have dubbed it the "worst update ever".

One person tweeted: "I just updated to iOS 18 and whoever designed this new Photos app, I hope 1. you never find a parking spot 2. your food orders are always wrong 3. it rains every time you leave the house  4. you lose your keys when it matters 5. all your appliances fail for Christmas."

Another added: "apple need to drop another update on ios 18 where they reverse the update on the photos app because no matter how many times i go into my camera roll i cannot get used to the new layout and format. it’s so UGLY nothing was wrong with the old format give it back."

Others commented: "Does anyone else absolutely despise the new iOS 18 photos update? Like I don’t even know what the f**k I’m doing dude," and: "updating my iPhone to IOS 18 is the worst thing l've ever done. The emojis are so huge and everytime i wanna leave the controls, it keeps taking me to my music ??? AND THE PHOTO GALLERY ??? omd its a f**king mess."

And Apple's latest iOS 18.1.1 update isn't going down any better with users after it was released on November 19.

People complained of the video editing features available as well as their passwords allegedly "disappearing".

The Apple website states: "This update provides important security fixes and is recommended for all users."

iOS 18.1 had brought in a longer list of changes, including a new feature that allows people to record voice and video calls, a fix to the Podcasts app that showed unplayed episodes as having been played, as well as a hearing test which provides "scientifically validated hearing test results from the comfort of home".

One person commented: "iOS 18.1.1 bug spotted - I have dark mode on but only some of my app icons are changing. I have to toggle on and off Dark Mode for it to actually kick in. Anyone experiencing this issue?"

While another added: "WTF is wrong with the latest iOS update?! My phone is dying every 7-8hrs despite being fully charged! Till yesterday I was getting a good 17-18hrs of battery on one charge. How do I roll back 18.1.1? HELP!!!!!!!!!!"

Someone else wrote: "This ios 18.1.1 update is A**. In what world do you think its a good idea to make things MORE complicated? Photos are a complete mess now. Oh and the control centre is terrible."

Apple have yet to comment publicly on the complaints.
