The shirtless Kylo Ren challenge is now a thing and the Internet can't get enough

Even if you haven't seen the latest Star Wars instalment, chances are you've probably seen the bit where Kylo Ren is shirtless. Because apparently, people are thirsty AF for the brooding villain with anger issues and his unconventional lightsaber (not a euphemism), and they won't shut up about that time where he bared his chest and abs and perfect arms onscreen. I won't spoil anything, but the Last Jedi scene basically comes after he's caught off guard by Rey, who is equally taken aback and asks him to cover his beautiful torso with a cowl (it's okay Rey, we all make mistakes). His hardcore training for the fight scenes in the film clearly paid off because damn is he ripped. And Twitter wasn't afraid to show its affections either. Funnily enough, it was started by none other than singer-songwriter John Mayer, who was clearly also taken by the topless scene and decided to ride the hype-wave by creating the #KyloRenChallenge. He posted a picture with the hashtag as the caption to introduce the concept. [[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/BdWcr_vHtVF/]] As you can see, the idea is basically just to post a shirtless pic of yourself while sporting high-waisted black pants. While the spiciness of the photos is certainly only at a lemon and herb level compared to the original from Adam Driver (sorry, John), you can't deny the challenge has produced some pretty golden material. People from all over the world have accepted the challenge and have posted their own images using the hashtag.

Have a look at these and you'll see what I mean:

People are posing with the lightsaber merchandise they've held onto since buying it with all the pocket money they saved up as a kid:

Or just, y'know, making do with what they've got lying around at home. Like your mop:

Or you electric toothbrush:

Although strictly speaking, the lightsaber should look more like these ones:

Most people seem to have just hoiked their pants up a bit higher to make do. People have also claimed that Kylo's actually not wearing the awkwardly high pants (that he somehow pulls off anyway) and that it is, in fact, a large bandage wrapped around a wound he's got. [[twitterwidget||https://twitter.com/softhux/status/944563369725411329]] Still, he rocks the Harry Highpants look and with this new #KyloRenChallenge, there is a very real possibility we could be seeing a new cut of jeans hitting shelves in menswear stores next season. And you know what? I don't even care, because the pictures are just terrific. Keep 'em coming, everyone.
