If you're someone who is lucky enough to be able to grow great
facial hair, firstly, good for you. Secondly, you will be accustomed to plenty of people commenting on and touching your beard. I don't know what it is about beards, but for some reason, they fascinate people in the same way an afro does. However, while beards have their benefits (women statistically find
men with beards more attractive), they can also earn you a lot of money this
Christmas.
A grooming shop is recruiting bearded men and paying them a lot of money to perform a very niché role. The man in question will be paid £30 an hour to sit and let stressed-out shoppers stroke their beard.

According to a recent study, stroking hair/beards releases a relaxing hormone called Oxytocin, something which all stressed out shopper need a bit more of at this time of the year in order to calm down those late present buying jitters.
The pop-up will be open for three days from 20 December at Highcross shopping centre in Leicester. The company behind the initiative, Mo Bro's, say that there are a few terms that those applying need to consider before putting their name forward for the role. All candidates need to have a beard that is over two inches long and, unsurprisingly, Santa-esque beards are also likely to receive preferential treatment.

The company are looking for more than one bearded bro, with there being three chairs available for a member of the public to sit and stroke your facial hair. The service will cost £5 for five minutes, with all profits being donated to the homeless charity, Shelter. So don't worry, while it may have appeared ludicrous, there is actually some thought behind it.
Speaking about the initiative, Savan Dattani, co-founder of Mo Bro’s, said:
“Christmas is a stressful time of year for most people. You’re in a mad rush trying to buy presents, food and drink, whilst juggling work, a family and other commitments. We had a think of how we could make this situation more enjoyable, and it suddenly came to us - a beard stroking
station! We have a few guys with fantastic beards already signed up, but we could do with a few more because we anticipate demand to be high. Santa beards preferred, but not essential!"

He adds:
“It’s fairly common knowledge that stroking soft things, like animals, reduces stress, but we didn’t want to enlist the help of animals because they obviously can be somewhat unpredictable and chaotic!"
"So, doing what we do, we thought beards are the next best thing! We’ll have an array of products available to use, so the beards will be soft and will smell great. Guests of the station can even brush them if they like!”
Do you know anyone who is fit for the role, or maybe you are? £30 per hour to get your beard stroked by the greasy, dirty hands of strangers - sounds like a deal, or does it?
