Cast your mind back to 2009, it was the year the
Michael Jackson died, the year that Amanda Knox was arrested and the year that
Obama was inaugurated into office. More importantly, however, it was the year that the The Hangover came out.
Like it or loathe it, The Hangover has managed to achieve a legendary status when it comes to comedy films. Although the premise of the film is pretty diluted - a few men go away together and all hell breaks loose - it managed to become a stalwart of comedy for every teenage boy when they were growing up. Its crude humour, racy scenes and "
men doing stupid stuff" bravado, made it a hugely successful film (even if the sequels were absolutely horrific), and one character, in particular, will always be fondly remembered by fans.

While the infamous Wolfpack was made up of Doug (Justin Bartha), Phil (
Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), and of course, Alan AKA fat Jesus (Zach Galifianakis), no one can forget the legendary baby Carlos.
Carlos, who was the son of a stripper named Jade (Heather Graham) was the unofficial fifth member of the Wolfpack. Grant Holquist, the kid who played Carlos, is now 8-years-old - something which makes me feel very ancient.

The boy reprized his role for the Hangover Part III, beating several other six-year-olds to the part.
"We called up the mom and said, 'Hey we're doing another one and we would love to see how Grant is doing,'" director Todd Philips told Global Grind at the time. "Then they came to my office and he was great and we had so much fun seeing him again."
Grant was pictured at the premiere of the third instalment way back in 2013, with Warner Bros uploading the photo to their Instagram account and captioning it: "#BabyCarlos all grown up! Introducing the adorable #GrantHolmquist from #TheHangover Part III."
Although he went on to make the role his own, in the first film Carlos was also played by his twin sister Avery, alongside six other babies who were all girls. “We started shooting in Vegas and it was the pool scene, which was fun,” says Grant's mom, Carrie.

“They had shot for two days prior to us getting there, so there are a couple clips in that movie where it’s not Grant or Avery.” Otherwise, it’s about “60 percent Grant, 40 percent Avery,” says Carrie.
Carrie says that Grant and Zach got on as well off the screen as they did on it: “Zach did an amazing job loosening Grant up.
“He’s the type of kid who’s very analytical and intelligent. So he kind of walks into a room and takes it all in first so it was really nice to have those personalities warm up to him.”
Today, “When he sees him in the trailer or in the paper, he’ll go, ‘Oh, there’s Zachy!’ He’s taken to calling him Zachy,” says Carrie. “Grant loves him.”
With characters like Baby Carlos, it's always weird to see them grown up. In my mind, he'll forever be that chubby faced baby that made people laugh in The Hangover.
