While we might all have our own ideas of what the ideal future would hold, in recent months a spate of individuals claiming to already know the answer have popped up seemingly out of nowhere (or perhaps out of the cosmos between time and space) to tell us their own version of how future events have played out.
There has been an astonishing influx of so called 'time travelers' of late, perhaps due to the widespread publicity they have been attracting online - or perhaps because they actually are time travelers and 2018 will turn out to be an important moment in our collective history.
Either way, in they pour, with startling prediction after startling prediction in tow. Indeed, a recent example included a time traveler who claimed to be taking a lie detector test during a
YouTube video. His proof that he was, indeed, from the future was, in his own words;
"Electric cars and self-driving cars will be dramatically improved. A consumer electric car will be able to travel 600 miles on a single charge in 2021.
Many people are spending a lot of their time in virtual reality
AI will also be huge and growing in 2021."
Perhaps not the most groudbreaking set of statements of all time, but all relatively likely to prove correct. This particular journeyor through time also insisted that
Donald Trump will remain President of the United States of America after the 2020 election. "I promise that the President of the United States after the 2020 election will be Donald J Trump", he says.
Well, yet another time traveler has a rather different idea of how the political landscape will unfold in years to come.

The man, known simply as Noah, has claimed to know the identity of the first female President, and it is none other than the granddaughter of Martin Luther King Jr. What's more, he says that she will become President at the age of just 21;
"She's the granddaughter of Martin Luther King Jr."

"She's 21 at the time, but they pass a new law that basically makes it so you can be younger as president."

He also attempted to explain the mechanics of time travel when he said:
"When you time travel you gain time.
When I was in junior high and I was a time traveller, I had to take these pills to make sure I don't grow old while time travelling."
Included in Noah's claims is the idea that in the future parents will be able to design their own baby - something that has been discussed as a potential moral offshoot of stem cell research - though he does warn that the process is extremely expensive, and therefore presumably would not be accessible to everyone.
What do you think? Is time travel possible? Are we witnessing real life versions of Doctor Who? Or is it all a load of old tosh. You decide, I'm keeping out of it.
