While not much is known about
Donald Trump's exercise routine, it's safe to say that his thumbs have been getting a good workout in recent years. Certainly, the former Celebrity Apprentice star and billionaire businessman has engaged in a veritable thumb war since becoming the 45th President of the United States.
And whether he's making crude remarks about women, lobbing insensitive comments at neighboring countries, or getting too vigorous with his tired thumbs and spelling out "covfefe", it's evident that Donald Trump's Twitter account is both a source of entertainment and frustration for all.
However, for some, Trump's blatant disregard for political correctness and propensity for outlandish statements has become a bit too much to handle. Case in point: yesterday, a former Twitter employee took it upon themselves to shut down the US President's Twitter account.
Donald Trump's Twitter account was taken down for 11 minutes yesterday, prompting people from all around the world to rejoice. But while people were quick to assume that the 45th President of the United States had been suspended from the social media platform, access was quickly restored.
Twitter has now announced that the account was deactivated by one rather rebellious employee who was working their last day at the company. Some people just need to go out with a bang, don't they?
The application issued a response which read, "We have learned that this was done by a Twitter customer-support employee who did this on the employee's last day. We are conducting a full internal review."

An earlier tweet promised that they would do whatever they could to prevent such a thing from happening again: "Earlier today @realdonaldtrump’s account was inadvertently deactivated due to human error by a Twitter employee. The account was down for 11 minutes, and has since been restored. We are continuing to investigate and are taking steps to prevent this from happening again."

Whilst Twitter may be planning disciplinary action for the precocious employee, the people of the internet took no time to declare them a "hero".
People took to Twitter to praise the unnamed employee for their actions. One user wrote "The employee is an activist hero", while another corroborated "Guy is a hero. He may have prevented an international crisis in those 11 minutes. Give him a medal".

Twitter has the power to suspend accounts if they promote abusive content, or if they've been hacked. But while there have been numerous calls for the social media platform to suspend Trump's account, namely on account of his threats towards North Korea, Twitter has refrained from taking action against Donald Trump.
Indeed, Trump has been criticised for having poor security standards when it comes to his love of social media. Rather than using a secure, encrypted smartphone which has been approved by the Secret Service, the President of the United States continues used an old, unsecured Android device.
Speaking about the app in 2012, Trump said "It's like owning your own newspaper - without the losses". However, upon winning the 2016 Presidential election, the billionaire entrepreneur promised to rein in his usage. In November 2016 ,he said that his use of the platform would be "very restrained, if I use it at all". But as we have all seen, this is one endeavour that Trump has yet to succeed in.
