An actor who starred in How I Met Your Mother was apprehended after allegedly stabbing his estranged girlfriend.

Nick Pasqual reportedly attacked Hollywood makeup artist Allie Shehorn with a sharp object multiple times at 4:30AM on May 23, according to a press release from the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.

The actor allegedly broke into Shehorn's Los Angeles home and “inflicted great bodily injury upon the victim under circumstances involving domestic violence” and “personally used a knife during the commission of the crime,” per the release.

It has been alleged that he fled the scene after the horrific attack but was captured at a U.S./Mexico border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas.

Shehorn, a 35-year-old makeup artist, has worked on several popular films including the Rebel Moon movies, the Mean Girls musical remake, and Babylon.

Days before the attack, she had filed a restraining order, accusing him of assaulting her on at least four separate occasions, per the restraining order obtained by Daily Mail.

The Rebel Moon actor has now been charged with one count of attempted murder, one count of first-degree residential burglary with person present, and one count of injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend, or child’s parent.

Before Pasqual’s arrest, it was reported that Shehorn underwent surgeries for her severe injuries, according to a GoFundMe page set up by her friends Emily MacDonald and Jed Dornoff.

The fundraising page states that she was in intensive care for several days, but as of Tuesday (May 28), she was released and taken to a different part of the hospital.

On Wednesday (May 29), Dornoff shared a picture of Shehorn walking around the hospital with a walker, writing: “Allie Shehorn is making positive steps to her recovery. It’s still a very long road but she is facing it with courage and determination. Love, Jed."

As of this writing, $92,856 has been raised of the $100,000 target. The funds will help cover medical and rehabilitation expenses.

District Attorney George Gascón issued a statement following the devastating incident, writing: “My thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with the victim in this horrific incident."

"Our office, including our Bureau of Victim Services, extends our support and resources to her as she embarks on the long and difficult journey of healing from both the physical and emotional trauma inflicted upon her,” he continued.

"This heinous incident is a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic violence. We will ensure that the individual responsible for this egregious act is held accountable for their actions,” Gascón concluded.

The L.A. District Attorney's office said Pasqual will be extradited to Los Angeles County where he will face the charges.

If convicted, he could be sentenced to life in prison.
