How I Met Your Mother actor Nick Pasqual allegedly stabbed his estranged girlfriend 20 times before fleeing the country.

As previously reported, the 34-year-old actor reportedly stabbed Hollywood makeup artist Allie Shehorn multiple times at 4:30AM on May 23, according to a press release from the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.

The actor allegedly broke into Shehorn's Los Angeles home and “inflicted great bodily injury upon the victim under circumstances involving domestic violence” and “personally used a knife during the commission of the crime,” per the release.

The 35-year-old was found by Christine White, who described herself as Shehorn's surrogate mother to KTLA, and was rushed to the hospital where she has so far undergone three surgeries, per NBC Los Angeles.

Pasqual tried to flee the scene after the vicious attack but was captured at a U.S./Mexico border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas.

The Rebel Moon actor has now been charged with one count of attempted murder, one count of first-degree residential burglary with person present, and one count of injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend, or child’s parent.

LA District Attorney George Gascon has said that the actor will be brought back to California, but a date for him to be transferred has not been set as of yet. He is currently being held in the Hudspeth County Jail.

A spokeswoman for the LA District Attorney's office stated: "The defendant has not been extradited to LA County from Texas. There is no arraignment date scheduled as of today." per Daily Mail.

Gascon described the horrific incident as "heinous" and said he would make the actor pay for his alleged crimes.

"Our office, including our Bureau of Victim Services, extends our support and resources to her as she embarks on the long and difficult journey of healing from both the physical and emotional trauma inflicted upon her,” he said.

"This heinous incident is a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic violence. We will ensure that the individual responsible for this egregious act is held accountable for their actions,” he concluded.

A GoFundMe page was set up by the makeup artist's friends Emily MacDonald and Jed Dornoff. As of this writing, $112,050 has been raised of the $150,000 target.

On May 29, Dornoff shared a picture of the makeup artist walking around the hospital with a walker, writing: “Allie Shehorn is making positive steps to her recovery. It’s still a very long road but she is facing it with courage and determination. Love, Jed."

Another friend named Richard Conrad shared an update on Monday (June 9), revealing that "things got real," and that Shehorn "is doing her best to stay positive but the struggle is hard".

"There are complications that we can not release to the public at this time. But she is feeling better and appreciates the love and support. Thanks again, Jed & Rich & Emily," he added.

The funds will help cover medical and rehabilitation expenses.
