Jennifer Aniston has criticized Senator J.D. Vance's past comments about "childless" women while speaking about Vice President Kamala Harris in 2021.

Donald Trump’s newly-appointed running mate has sparked outrage online after his offensive remarks from a 2021 interview on Fox News resurfaced.

In the interview, the 39-year-old told host Tucker Carlson that the country was run by “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too".

He then claimed that Kamala Harris and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were “people without children” who were controlling the “entire future of the Democrats," adding: “How does it make any sense we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it?”

As a video of the interview went viral on social media, it didn’t take long for Aniston to call out the GOP vice presidential candidate for his sexist comments.

The 55-year-old Friends actress, who has been candid about her struggle to conceive, took to Instagram on Wednesday (July 24) to write: "I truly can’t believe this is coming from a potential VP of the United States.

“All I can say is… Mr. Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day," she continued. “I hope she will not need to turn to IVF as a second option. Because you are trying to take that away from her, too.”

American actor Liz Vassey, known for her roles on All My Children and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, also chimed in on the father-of-three's comments, penning on X: “I had absolutely no idea I was miserable. Thank God there was a man around to tell me.”

Hilary Clinton, who was the Democratic party's nominee in the 2016 presidential election, reacted to the clip: "What a normal, relatable guy who certainly doesn't hate women having freedoms."

Vance, and his wife Usha, 38, have three kids - sons Ewan, six, and Vivek, four, and daughter Mirabel, two. Meanwhile, Harris became a stepmother to Cole, 29, and Ella, 25 after she married entertainment lawyer Douglas Emhoff in 2014.

Aniston’s reaction to Vance's comments comes after she addressed her own issues with fertility after facing years of tabloid speculation over when she would have children.

The actress, who was previously married to Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux, opened up about the multiple methods she explored in her attempts to become pregnant during an interview with Allure in 2022.

"All the years and years and years of speculation… It was really hard. I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it," she said. "I was throwing everything at it. I would have given anything if someone had said to me, 'Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.' You just don’t think it."

The Murder Mystery star said things were "really hard" for her emotionally in the years there were speculations she was pregnant, and the rumors that she chose her career over having children were "absolute lies".

Although she didn’t go into detail about her IVF journey, she added: "Here I am today. The ship has sailed… I actually feel a little relief now because there is no more, 'Can I?' I don’t have to think about that anymore."
