Black Friday has come, gone and left with little fanfare here in the U.K. Don't get me wrong, our shops tried to galvanize the public - we were bombarded with adverts telling us about special deals and huge discounts, but as Brits, we tend not to get that excited by all of that. Instead, our shoppers who did brave the cold conditions and early starts queued patiently and expertly. However, the same can't be said for other parts of the world (yes, I'm looking at you, America). Black Friday is a huge occasion over in the US, with people literally fighting each other to get their hands on a toaster, TV, anything they can get their filthy mitts on.

While there is a whole theory that the majority of Black Friday deals are a scam, with plenty of retailers hiking up their prices in the week leading up to the discounted day in order to make those savings seem super stupendous, there is undoubtedly some bargains to be had. Things like video games and other small goods usually have a decent discount on them, but the likes of flatscreen TV's and other larger products, tend to involve some sort of conniving trick of deception added to their prices by the retailers, who are VERY good at marketing the deals.
So, what do you get when you mix huge Black Fridays savings with a load of people who want to begin their Christmas shopping? Well, in all honesty, you see how low society is willing to go for a discount. Black Friday fights are a very common occurrence, in fact, there are even
some people who have died while trying to get some of those juicy discounts, but when you see footage like the below, you can't help but hang your head in shame.

The Tweet, which is perfectly captioned "this is almost sad..." shows hoards of desperate shoppers practically destroying the front of a store in order to get the discounts that are inside. The original poster of the Tweet was also quick to highlight the stupidity of the shoppers buying the products through using their credit cards.

"When you buy a 'special' on #BlackFriday on credit, it will cost you more to repay it than the original price. THESE SO CALLED SPECIALS ARE A TRAP. #BlackFriday2017"
Sadly, this riot wasn't the only incident of Black Friday trouble this year, with cops in Alabama having to shut down a mall due to a mass brawl.

And then there were these shoppers, whose appearance under the shutters looks like that arcade game where you bash animals on the head.

It's a depressing state of affairs when people go to such extreme lengths to get a discount on material items. For what it's worth, I can't help but wonder why these people don't just do their shopping online. Yes, you won't get the discounts you get in the store, but I'd rather spend more and not get my head trampled.
