Judge Judy has revealed that there was a time when her former neighbor Justin Bieber was "scared to death" of her.
In an interview with Access Hollywood promoting season two of Judy Justice, the 80-year-old TV personality claimed that the singer used to be afraid of her when they both had apartments at the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills.
Judy Sheindlin said that the now-28-year-old pop star avoided her after she brought the gavel down in the court of public opinion during his teenage years.
"He's scared to death of me. There was a period of time before he grew up - when he was foolish, and doing foolish things," she said. "I must have said something about it, and then, I understood that he was paying the front door people to let them know when I was there, coming and going, so he wouldn't have to bump into me."
Watch the judge speak about Bieber below:Shiendlin did in fact make a comment to CBS Los Angeles about the 'Baby' singer's behavior after he was arrested for a DUI and was charged in two other court cases in 2014.
According to E Online, at that time, Bieber was ordered to undergo a 12-hour anger management course, complete a DUI education program, make a $50,000 charitable contribution and pay additional fines after pleading guilty.
The judge spoke about the star's controversial incident and said at the time: "Being a celebrity is a gift; you can either treat it reverently, or you can make a fool out of yourself, and he's doing a very good job of making a fool out of himself and I think it's sad."
"Nobody's going to remember that he was a marginal singer, but they're going to remember a young kid, who had a chance to have it all, and who is blowing it by acting like a fool," she added.
Despite her words, it looks like the 'Beauty and a Beat' singer grew past his antics as he reflected on his law-breaking past last year on Instagram by sharing a picture of him being arrested.
"7 years ago today I was arrested, not my finest hour. Not proud of where I was at in my life. I was hurting, unhappy, confused, angry, mislead, misunderstood, and angry at god," Bieber captioned the post.
"All this to say God has brought me a long way. From then til now I do realize something.. God was as close to me then as he is right now. My encouragement to you is to 'let your past be a reminder of how far god has brought you," he continued.
"Don’t allow shame to ruin your 'today' let the forgiveness of Jesus take over and watch your life blossom into all that God has designed you to be," he said, adding, "LOVE YOU GUYS WITH MY WHOLE HEART."

Amy Schumer has issued a 'warning' for women in their 20s after taking to Instagram to share a before and after image of herself.
The comedian, 42, took to social media to share a couple of photos of herself from the Comedy Central Roast of Roseanne in 2012, as well as a shot of her in hospital recently.
In the first pictures, she is seen smiling broadly at the camera, while in the last snap, Amy appears a bit disheveled as she is sat in a hospital gown with an IV stand near her.
She told her followers: "Warning 20 somethings I looked like this at your age. Swipe. Life is coming for you."
Despite Amy's caption stating she was in her twenties at the time the photo was taken, the comedian was actually 31 at the time of the roast.
She reiterated her message on her Instagram story too, sharing the same snaps and writing: "Girls in your 20s guess what? I looked like you too. Life is coming for you b***hes."
Several of Amy's celebrity pals hit the comments to share their thoughts, with Michelle Visage joking: "Relatable."
Viola Davis and Michelle Pfeiffer sent a series of laughing face emojis, while Leonardo DiCaprio's 26-year-old ex Camila Morrone quipped: "Im already at last slide."
Fans were also loving the unfiltered snap, writing: "I saw a picture of myself from 2005 the other day and I haven’t fully recovered, life comes at ya fast."
Another added: "it happens SUDDENLY too. Overnight," while a third warned: "Just wait until menopause. That's a fun one."
One commented: "I know that feeling! It only gets worse! Slippery slope," while another added: "This inspired one of those laughs that are so startling that your morning coffee comes out of your nose…."
Another fan had trouble containing themselves, writing: "This made me spit out my oatmeal. Thank you."
Amy has never shied away from sharing real and honest photos and takes on life with her followers, rather than the airbrushed and tweaked celebrity photos most are used to seeing on social media.
And while she isn't afraid of showing her true self on camera, Amy has also been honest about the cosmetic procedures she has had in the past.
The I Feel Pretty star, who welcomed son Gene with husband Chris Fischer in 2019, revealed in 2021 that she had tried cheek fillers but got them dissolved after not being happy with the fact they made her look like a Disney villain.
She told her followers at the time: "I tried getting fillers. Turns out, I was already full. Thank God you can dissolve them I looked like #maleficent."
Amy also underwent liposuction at the end of 2021 after having her uterus and appendix removed, telling the Hollywood Reporter why she chose to be open about having it done.
She explained at the time: "It’s not about needing to be slamming, because I’ve never been famous for being hot, but I’d reached a place where I was tired of looking at myself in the mirror.
"Everybody on camera is doing this s**t, I just wanted to be real about it."

Amy Schumer has celebrated her "40 extra lbs" by posting an Instagram story in her underwear, claiming that she has "still got it".
In the candid snapshot, Schumer, 42, sported a makeup-free face, with a big smile. She captioned the image with self-assurance, stating: "Still got it," and acknowledging that by 'it', she was referring to a weight gain of "40 extra lbs [18kg]".
Given her body language in the image, Schumer is confident in herself as she threw her arm up in excitement in the joyful photo.
The snapshot was taken in Schumer's bathroom, featuring a glass shower, a freestanding bathtub, a towel-warming rack, and green leaf-patterned wallpaper. The countertop displayed various toiletries, including Cetaphil face wash and skincare products.
In October last year, Schumer posted photos from the Comedy Central Roast of Roseanne in 2012, contrasting her smiling and carefree appearance at the age of 31 with a more disheveled hospital snapshot from a recent period.
In her Instagram caption, Schumer cautioned her followers, stating: "Warning 20 somethings, I looked like this at your age. Swipe. Life is coming for you." Despite mentioning being in her twenties in the photo, Schumer was actually 31 during the Comedy Central Roast.
Reiterating her message on her Instagram story, Schumer shared the same images with a note that read: "Girls in your 20s guess what? I looked like you too. Life is coming for you b***hes."
Several celebrities, including Michelle Visage, Viola Davis, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Camila Morrone, engaged with the post through comments and emojis, showcasing camaraderie in the shared experience of aging.
Fans also praised Schumer's unfiltered portrayal of life, clearly relating to the image. One fan remarked: "I saw a picture of myself from 2005 the other day, and I haven’t fully recovered, life comes at ya fast."
Others shared similar sentiments, with one warning about the sudden onset of change and another commenting: "Just wait until menopause. That's a fun one."
In November, Schumer claimed that she is the "most successful female comedian of all time" which sparked a wave of backlash.
Known for her candid presence online, she found herself in the midst of controversy after commenting on the Israel-Palestine conflict.
Taking to her Instagram account, Schumer addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding her remarks on the conflict after expressing support for the Jewish community while condemning Hamas. However, her stance has sparked debate due to the contentious history between Israel and Palestine.
In an effort to clarify her position, Schumer emphasized her desire for "peace" and the return of "every hostage," expressing a wish for "safety and freedom from Hamas for Palestinians and Israelis." She made it clear that her intention was not to wish harm upon anyone and called for safety for both Jewish and Muslim communities.
Responding to accusations of Islamophobia and support for genocide, Schumer labeled such claims as "crazy" and enabled comments on her post, urging followers to consider her perspective. Addressing critics who accused her of making the conflict about herself, Schumer defended her background, stating she is "self-made" and refuted allegations she had stolen jokes.
In a bold statement, Schumer asserted her position as the "most successful female comedian of all time," defending her career and addressing personal criticisms.
The Instagram post has since been removed.

Amy Schumer is embracing the final weeks of summer by celebrating her recent health transformation. The 45-year-old comedian recently posted a series of bikini photos on Instagram, displaying her physical progress while relaxing by the water.
Wearing a colorful two-piece swimsuit, Schumer smiled for the camera and gave her followers a look into her recent vacation. "I never knew there would be days like this," she captioned the post. "No filter as per ushe."
The social media update quickly gathered positive feedback from both her fans and celebrity friends. Actress Kate Walsh showed her support by commenting, "So beautiful, Amy. Happy and thriving."
The post marks another moment where the actress has chosen to speak openly about her body image and health management.
Schumer has spent the last two years discussing the realities of her weight-loss experiences, sharing the positive results alongside the difficult side effects.
In March 2025, she uploaded a video addressing her experience with the medication Mounjaro and detailing her past struggles with other injectables.
"I wanted to share and keep it 100 with you, that years ago - and yes, this is completely unsafe to be driving and making a video - years ago, three years ago, I tried Wegovy and I was like puking," Schumer told her followers.
She added that she eventually sought out alternative care options to see what would work for her body. "I couldn't handle it. I don't know if they've changed the formula or whatever… but anyway, I went on this telehealth meeting with MidiHealth, and it was cheap. I wanted to try it myself, cause I wanted to recommend it to my friends who are like nurses and teachers."
In addition to navigating these treatments, she addressed her perimenopause symptoms by starting a new hormone routine. "They put me on estrogen and progesterone because I realized I was in perimenopause and my symptoms of being in perimenopause have disappeared," she noted.
Finding a workable routine required significant trial and error for the star. During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show, the comedian explained how her genetic makeup caused severe reactions to certain popular weight-loss drugs.
"I have this gene - GDF15 - which makes you extremely prone to nausea, which is why I was so sick during my pregnancy. So, I tried Ozempic almost three years ago and I was like bedridden, I was vomiting, and then you have no energy but other people take it, and they're all good," she stated.
Although the physical changes happened rapidly, the toll on her daily life was too high. "I lost 30 pounds so quick," said Schumer, who is mom to four-year-old son Gene, whom she shares with ex-husband, Chris Fischer. "I looked great, and I couldn't lift my head off the pillow, so what's the point?"
Beyond her weight-loss experiences, Schumer has routinely used her platform to bring attention to various women's health issues.
In February 2024, she shared her Cushing syndrome diagnosis after observers noted changes in her face, later calling the medical discovery a blessing because it helped pinpoint the root cause of her symptoms.
She has also spoken openly about her struggles with endometriosis and her 2021 hysterectomy, consistently using her public profile to normalize discussions about medical challenges.
