A fisherman has shared a hilarious video showing two giant sea lions 'borrowing' somebody's boat.

The baffling footage was captured by former professional soccer player Joshua Phillips who was sailing by in another boat. After spotting the quite frankly side-splitting occurrence, he naturally took out his phone to capture it.

"The vessel looked a little off, and we got closer and closer and realized there were two massive animals on board," he told The Seattle Times.

Watch the glorious footage for yourself below:

The footage was captured by Philips as he passed through Eld Inlet near Olympia, Washington. He subsequently posted it on his company's Instagram account, Spawn Fly Fish, on Tuesday, where it has been viewed over a million times, as per The Seattle Times.

He captioned the video: "Boats and.... #sealions"

Needless to say, viewers of the footage were more than a little amused by the antics of the two sea lions.

One commentator questioned: "sweetheart [did you] pay for this [cruise?]"

Sea lions can weigh anything between 580 to 1,200 lbs so it's no wonder that the small boat was tilting upward under the pressure of their weight. Therefore, it will come as no surprise that Philips later revealed that the vessel slipped "completely underwater."

Check out the incredible moment a sea lion was accidentally caught by fishermen and refused to leave:

Let's just hope that whoever owned the boat had insurance. One thing's for sure, if Philips hadn't recorded the sea lions, they'd have almost certainly not been believed!
