Hathaway, who hails from Flagler Beach in Florida, shared a one-minute-long clip of the animal swimming through the murky floodwaters of his yard space, grazing on his lawn.

"Tide is so high we have a manatee munching on the grass IN OUR YARD. #Eta"
In a later follow-up post, Hathaway added: "You never know what you will catch on video around here."
The footage shocked a number of other social media users, who promptly took to the comments to share their reactions to the large animal.
For instance, one Facebook user wrote: "I miss manatees. So cute. Hope it made it back home safe. Hope yall are safe too. [sic]"
Meanwhile, someone else added: "That's environmentally friendly lawn service!"
