Billie Eilish wants to normalize 'real bodies' after shaming of tank top pics

Billie Eilish has taken to Instagram stories to share a powerful message about "normalizing real bodies" after she was shamed for pictures of her in a tank top.

This comes after a Twitter user shared a picture of the 18-year-old in a tank top and publications such as the Daily Mail and New York Post posted articles shining a spotlight on the fact that Eilish was spotted "WITHOUT her trademark baggy clothes" and showing "some skin".

In response, fans of the 18-year-old have been taking to Twitter to defend the 'No Time To Die' singer.

One Twitter user wrote: "can't wait for the day when billie eilish stops getting judged for wearing tank tops outside of her baggy clothes aesthetic. [sic]"

Sharing a link to the NY Post's Page Six article, another Twitter user added: "Exactly why
@billieeilish [wears] baggy clothes. Can't go one moment without being sexualized."

It wasn't long before Ellish herself appeared to react to those who body-shamed her for going out in a tank top, shorts, socks, and sliders.

She did so by sharing an Instagram story of herself walking past her collection of music awards and winking before sharing a Chizi Duru video about the importance of normalizing bodies.

Duru said in the clip: “Y'all gotta start normalizing real bodies, okay? Not everybody has a wagon behind them, okay? Guts are normal - they're normal. Boobs sag, especially after breastfeeding. Instagram isn't real."

"Instagram has warped a lot of y’all into thinking NORMAL bodies are abnormal. NO," Duru went on to caption the post on her Instagram, per the Independent.

The 18-year-old Grammy award winner also shared a picture of herself on Instagram that was captioned: "Do you really want to go back in time?" which could be interpreted as a reference to her previous comments about body shaming.

"Do you know me? Do you really know me?" Eilish said in the video. "You have opinions about my opinions, about my music, about my clothes, about my body. Some people hate what I wear; some people praise it. Some people use it to shame others; some people use it to shame me."

Speaking to GQ about the powerful video, Elish explained: "I definitely didn't want it to come off as, 'Oh, now I am 18 now I like my body.' I still have huge issues with my own body."
