Social media is roasting Bradley Cooper after he failed to win an award at last night's Golden Globe Awards.

On Sunday night at the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards at The Beverly Hilton in California, we celebrated a great year for Hollywood blockbusters as well as entertainers who brought them to life.

While some big-name actors like Cillian Murphy and Emma Stone were recognized for their hard work, other artists such as Bradley Cooper were left in the dust despite having multiple nominations - and let's just say fans aren't shocked as to why the 49-year-old actor may have missed out.

Maestro, which Cooper both directed and starred in, tells the story of the famous Jewish composer Leonard Bernstein and his love story with his wife Felicia Montealegre, however, the role caused controversy after Cooper wore prosthetics to enlarge his nose.

The movie debuted on Netflix on December 20 and was nominated for two awards at the Golden Globes: Best Director of a Motion Picture and Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture.

Cooper lost both awards, the first to Cillian Murphy and the second to Christopher Nolan, both securing victories for their work on the epic biographical thriller Oppenheimer.

After the show, fans took to social media, notably X, to roast Cooper for not winning any awards on the night.

"Bradley Cooper didn't win s**t we won," wrote one user alongside a clip of the star from Maestro.

"Bradley Cooper’s tryhard f***a** got humbled, god is truly great," added another.

Ouch.

"Bradley Cooper is kinda like me in the sense that we never win. Ever. Just L after L no matter how hard we try," a third hilariously stated.

And this user took it one step further, tweeting: "They say bradley cooper rehearsed 6 years to perfect the ability to lose every golden globe."

I mean, that one's a bit below the belt, isn't it? Hilarious, but a low blow nonetheless.

So why is there so much Cooper slander going on right now? Well, it could be a mixture of reasons but the controversies surrounding Maestro are most likely the biggest reasons for his downfall.

Between his incomprehensible speech as well as serious accusations of "jewface" being thrown around, it's no wonder why people are having a hard time with Cooper at the moment.

Prior to the Golden Globes even taking place, fans expressed their dislike for the actor's performance in the biopic.

"The mumbling maestro," one fan wrote on the social media platform. "So dull and so hard to hear the convos when he and his wife are talking over each other and his deep mumble Ugh. Turned off after an hour."

"Just looked up a picture of the real leonard bernstein... the big antisemitic prosthetic nose on bradley cooper was definitely not necessary..." tweeted one user.

"There's a scene in maestro where they're lying down and the way the lighting is happening you can tell that bradley cooper is wearing a nose prosthetic and it's so obvious because it's a different skin color than his face cause he's tan as s*** ????" added this X user.

Here's a teaser from the Golden Globe-nominated movie:

Cooper himself spoke out on the decision to include the prosthetic nose during an interview on CBS Mornings, but it didn't seem to help his plight.

"I thought, 'Maybe we don’t need to do it,'" he said. "But it’s all about balance, and, you know, my lips are nothing like Lenny’s, and my chin. And so we had that, and it just didn’t look right [without the prosthetic].

"So when he’s young we have a prosthetic here, and it just moves out, so by the time he’s older, it’s the whole face. So we just had to do it; otherwise, I wouldn’t believe he’s a human being," he added, motioning to his face.

Even when the star was backed by Bernstein's family and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), people were still upset that the movie chose to run with it.
