Adam Sandler has paid tribute to Alec Musser after the actor tragically passed away.
The 50-year-old actor left a lasting impression on fans and colleagues after his appearance on the long-running daytime television series, All My Children, back in 2005.
Musser earned the role after he won the second season of the SOAPnet original series, I Wanna Be a Soap Star and ended up starring on the TV show for two years.
While the late actor's professional career encompassed only six total credits, he left a significant mark on viewers as he made notable appearances in Desperate Housewives as Friedrich, the 2010 comedy movie Grown Ups as the "Water Park Stud," as well as Road to the Altar, Rita Rocks and The Phantom Executioner.
As reported by TMZ, the soap star tragically passed away of an undisclosed cause at his home in Del Mar, California.
Musser's devastated fiancée, Paige Press, shared the heartbreaking news with the publication, while his uncle confirmed the actor's passing. However, details surrounding the circumstances leading up to his death have not been publicized.
Following the news of his passing, Adam Sandler - who worked with the actor on Grown Ups - shared a poignant message to his former co-star on Instagram, and included a picture of Musser in the famous flick.
The 57-year-old expressed shock and fondly remembered him, writing: "I loved this guy. Cannot believe he is gone. Such a wonderful, funny good man. Thinking of Alec Musser and his family and sending all my love. A true great sweetheart of a person."
In recent years, Musser was not active in Hollywood and shifted the primary focus of his career to become a fitness model. He maintained a presence on social media as he often shared updates about his active lifestyle and fitness journey.
The late star graced the covers of prominent men's magazines such as Men's Health and Men's Workout. His remarkable physique and modeling work even amassed recognition, leading to actor Channing Tatum recreating one of Alec's iconic magazine covers as part of the promotion for his movie Dog.
Musser graciously acknowledged Tatum's tribute, expressing his appreciation on social media: "Thank you, [Channing Tatum]. 'Dog' movie. Imitation truly is the sincerest form of flattery. Calle nailed this pose in about 4 frames on a Max Fitness cover shoot. During a lighting change phenomenon, fitness photographer Corey Sorenson said, 'grab your dog for a few,' and the illustrious career of [Calle the Superstar] was born."
The Desperate Housewives actor's final Instagram post was shared four days ago, and it was a serene picture of the late actor surfing. He captioned the picture: "Silhouette by Baja Winter twilight."
Many fans and friends have now taken to the comments section to share their touching tributes to the dedicated bodybuilder and express their sympathies to his loved ones.
"RIP Brother Alec… We will surf together again my friend… May God Bless you in your new Adventure of Heaven… Prayers and Love out to family," photographer John Watkins wrote, while another shared: "I'm in shock brother. You were a dear friend and will always be remembered. Enjoy those perfect heavenly waves and powder runs."
A third user added: "May his family find comfort and peace during this absolutely devastating loss. He was so young."
Our thoughts continue to be with Musser's family, friends, and fans at this time.
