"This didn’t go as planned," Flaa captioned the TikTok post, which has since gone viral.

In the video, Hathaway and Flaa sit in silence before the journalist attempts to break the ice.

Flaa suggests a playful approach to start the interview: "So I was going to ask you to do the first question singing. I'll sing the question to you, and you sing it back."

Hathaway, however, immediately declines the offer, laughing but clearly uninterested. "Well, I won’t be doing that, but you’re more than welcome to sing," she responds.

As the interview progresses, the tension continues.

When Flaa asks: "Do you feel as though love was more passionate back then, or did people sacrifice more for love than we do today?" Hathaway curtly replies, "No."

A similarly short response follows when the journalist inquires about Hathaway’s first crush, making for an uncomfortable watch.

Comments flooded in, with some branding Hathaway as "rude" but others also noted that the questions were "ridiculous".

Well, given the interest online, Hathaway has now responded.

Flaa revealed the unexpected apology during her show, Flaawsome Talk.

"Yesterday, I did receive an email. It was from Anne Hathaway's publicist, and he forwarded a message to me from Anne Hathaway," she said.

"I was pretty shocked. I had not expected her to reach out to me at all. I thought she was never gonna even see that video. But she did. And she did something pretty amazing."

Hathaway has since offered a personal explanation for the encounter.

"She sent me a long email explaining to me what she was going through right then when she did this interview, and she apologized for being... giving me an awful interview basically," Flaa shared.

"It was so touching to me. Just talking about it makes me almost teary-eyed, 'cause I was just so grateful that she did that."

Flaa added that she and Hathaway agreed not to disclose the specific details of the email, but she expressed her gratitude for the heartfelt apology.

"It was a very personal note. And we decided that I wouldn’t share exactly what was in the email, but I just wanted to share with you guys what she did."

In a surprising gesture, Hathaway also invited Flaa to interview her again when her next movie is released.

"So, yes, I’m really looking forward to that, Anne," Flaa said. "Thank you so much for doing that."
