Last week, award-winning journalist Kjersti Flaa released a now-viral video to her YouTube channel showcasing the moment she interviewed stars Lively and co-star Parker Posey for their 2016 movie Cafe Society.

However, rather than be the career-highlight many people would have assumed the an interview like this to be, Flaa wrote in the video title that she was left wanting to "quit" her job after her interaction with Lively.

During their conversation, Flaa congratulated Lively on her pregnancy - following the news at the time that she was expecting her second child with her husband Ryan Reynolds. However, the encounter appeared to turn tense from that moment on.

"First of all, congrats on your little bump," Flaa, who is the founder of Content Now TV, said.

"Congrats on your little bump," Blake hit back, clearly unamused by the comment.

Another awkward moment came after Flaa asked the stars about the outfits in the movie, leading to Lively saying: "Everyone wants to talk about the clothes but I wonder if they would ask the men about the clothes."

After sharing the clip to YouTube, Flaa was flooded with words of support, with one person commenting: "I feel so bad for the interviewer. This makes me feel so uncomfortable."

A second wrote: "These two actress are disgraceful and rude. So embarrasing for them. Kjersti you did a great job, you were polite and calm, you are a great interviewer."

And a third supporter added: "Kudos to the interviewer for uploading the video with this callout title. No one should just accept rude behavior like this, even from celebs."

Now, Flaa has provided a further update on the developing fallout, revealing that she hasn't heard any response or apology from Lively.

"No one came out and apologized, and they probably told [Lively], ‘Don’t come out [and say sorry], don’t react, don’t do anything. We’ll take care of this for you. We’ll just say that it’s the journalist’s fault and that you were offended by her and then we’ll just plant some other good, positive stories,’” Flaa hypothesized in a new video shared to her YouTube channel. “I think that’s the problem.”

Further criticizing Hollywood stars for not "owning up to their mistakes", Flaa added: "They’re afraid that it’s going to backfire or that it’s gonna make them look bad [...] It’s time to change that.”

The journalist added that "things would have been very different" if "Blake Lively would have come out in front of this".

Page Six has reported that Lively's representatives have not responded to requests for a comment on the video.

Flaa has also shared why she believes the interview became so awkward.

Speaking on the YouTube show Popcorned Planet, Flaa was asked why Lively became so "offended" by the questions, to which, the reporter responded: "I don’t know if she was offended, I think she was just, like – she didn’t want to be there and she didn’t want me to be there.

"And I think she was just being in a bad mood and I don’t know if me congratulating her on her pregnancy made her in such a horrible mood that she felt she had to punish me."

Last week, Flaa also revealed in an interview with the Daily Mail why one of Lively's comments was "like a bullet" to her.

"It was such a traumatizing experience to me,” Flaa told the Mail. "I was there to do a job, and they made sure to make it as difficult as possible for me to do that.

"I was there so they could promote a movie," the journalist added. "I was invited to meet them. It certainly did not feel like that. I felt belittled and ignored, and it made me question if I ever wanted to do these types of interviews again."

She then explained: "'[Her comment] left me almost paralyzed. To be honest, it hurts because I obviously wasn't pregnant and I could never get pregnant so to me that comment was like a bullet."

"I didn't know how to react," Flaa said. "I felt very uncomfortable throughout the interview and all I wanted to do was leave and get out of there as fast as I could."

Regardless, Flaa did tell Popcorned Planet that she would gladly accept an apology if one was offered to her.
