Bradley Cooper was once asked about his relationship with fellow actor Jennifer Lawrence, given their characters' on-screen chemistry.
If you cast your mind back to 2012, you might remember that the Hollywood stars shared the screen in the romantic comedy-drama Silver Linings Playbook as eventual couple Pat and Tiffany.
The pair also starred in American Hustle as married couple Irving and Rosalyn Rosenfeld, as well as a couple in 2014's Serena, further feeding into the want from fans for them to end up together in real life.
Following all the talk, Cooper was forced to come out and reveal whether their chemistry on set translated to real-life romance.
It was none other than radio host Howard Stern who posed the question to The Hangover star, who was quick to shut down rumors.
In an interview on The Howard Stern Show for 2015 film Burnt, the host asked: "What is going on there? Jennifer Lawrence. You're doing another movie with her. Is she becoming the woman you have the most chemistry with? What is going on?"
Cooper answered: "It's due to (director) David O. Russell; that's what's happening. We did Silver Linings Playbook together. We got along great."
"Do you think because of all of these movies that you've been in with Jennifer Lawrence, I guess the question has to be answered, when are you two going to have sex?" Stern asked candidly.
He added: "Never? You said she's too young," as Stern mentioned the pair's 15-year age difference.
"I said that once on a red carpet just as a diffuse thing," Cooper recealed. "And then it became a thing because the girl I was seeing [Suki Waterhouse] was as young as she was."
The actor said of their platonic connection that 'it just didn't happen', and that he would 'never' sleep with her, as 'it's not the way we are together.'
He isn't alone in feeling this way, as Lawrence also hit back at speculation in 2014 by telling People: "No sex!"
Unfortunately for fans who ever shipped them together, nothing happened at the time, and over a decade on, nothing has developed.
More recently, Lawrence spoke about Waterhouse's current partner, Robert Pattinson, whom she starred alongside in Die My Love.
The pair acted in some intimate scenes together, as Lawrence spoke about they how didn't need an intimacy coordinator while shooting with him.
She explained in 2025: “We did not have [an intimacy coordinator], or maybe we did but we didn’t really… I felt really safe with Rob,
“He is not pervy and very in love with Suki Waterhouse. We mostly were just talking about our kids and relationships.”
Lawrence also clarified that there "was never any weird like, ‘Does he think I like him?’” dynamic between them.
She went on to say that if there had been “a little bit of that,” she likely would have wanted an intimacy coordinator involved.
