Britney Spears has filed a police report after she was allegedly slapped while out for dinner with her husband Sam Asghari.

At approximately 8:30PM, Spears found herself in the center of a chaotic fan frenzy at Catch restaurant, located within the ARIA Hotel. Accompanied by Asghari and two others, the pop star was planning to enjoy a quiet dinner.

However, as she stepped foot into the casino, she was engulfed by a swarm of fans, TMZ reports.

As they made their way to Catch, she happened to spot San Antonio Spurs player Victor Wembanyama.

Being a fan, she decided to approach him to request a photo together. As she lightly tapped him on his back, right shoulder, the situation took a swift, unexpected turn.

The Director of Team Security for the San Antonio Spurs - the very team that had drafted Wembanyama just the previous month - is said to have reacted immediately.

According to the 'Toxic' singer, the man - named Damian Smith - proceeded to "slap" her, causing her to tumble to the ground, and in the process, her glasses were knocked off.

Gathering herself after the shocking incident, Spears went to her table. Soon after, the security guard who allegedly struck her approached her table. In his apology to the star, he mentioned the pressures of fan attention, stating, "You understand how it is when you're being swarmed by fans." Spears is said to have accepted his apology.

However, that wasn't the end of the incident. Spears' personal security team interacted extensively with Wembanyama's security personnel. After these discussions, Spears' team made a decision to escalate the matter, lodging a formal complaint with the Metropolitan Police Department, accusing the security guard of battery.

Wembanyama, a 19-year-old originally from France, had just been signed to the Spurs during the 2023 NBA Draft on June 22.

The incident comes weeks after Asghari spoke out in defense of his famous wife ahead of the release of a TMZ documentary based on her life.

Taking to his Instagram Story on May 14, he posted a video criticizing individuals from Spears' close-knit circle who, according to him, co-opted her narrative as if it were their own - a behavior he deemed "absolutely disgusting."

Asghari's scathing comments were seemingly directed at these insiders' participation in the documentary, TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears, The Price of Freedom, which debuted on May 15.

The film delves into the life of the iconic 'Baby One More Time' singer following the termination of her hotly debated conservatorship in November 2021.
