Britney Spears has said that she's "always been scared" of her dad and his drinking amid her ongoing conservatorship battle.

The 'Womanizer' singer, 39, recently shocked the world when she accused her father Jamie of abusing his position as conservator, a role he has held since 2008.

On Friday (July 16), she told a court how he has always frightened her and that her family stayed at a beach house she paid for while she was left behind, as per the Daily Star.

In an emotional speech to the court, the 'Toxic' singer said: "I've always been scared of my dad. I was scared he would show up drunk. I counted and in one week alone, I was abandoned 63 times by all of my family members as I sat in the trailer and watched them leave from the window."

She added: "My team took everything from me. They even took my hair vitamins away. That's not abuse, it's f***ing cruel. I still can't even drink coffee.

"I'm not sure how long it takes to get a restraining order but I want to file for abuse and an investigation against my dad. He knocked down a door and shook my son. My lawyer (Sam Ingham) didn't fight for me. My lawyer did not fight for me one time. I am angry and I will go there."

This statement comes after Britney's court-appointed lawyer, Sam Ingham, resigned from his role last week, and she was given the ability to chose her own lawyer.

She said of her conservatorship: "I would prefer if Jodi [co-conservator Jodi Montgomery] stays in place and works with me. But not my dad."

The singer said that as a result of her father's role as her conservator, she was forced to work excessive hours while her family enjoyed her beach house.

She alleged: "I worked so much it's illegal despite what these stupid people say. I'm not crazy!

"What makes me the [maddest] is my family… my family all were hanging out together at a beach house I bought when my dad was trying to investigate me."

Britney continued: "My dad needs to be removed. He needs to be removed today. I’m fine with Jodi helping me to get more confidence and get out to the real world but I need my dad gone."
